Re: Steering Rack

use a ball joint splitter.
a recon rack is so cheap its a no brainer.
check if its lubricated BEFORE you refit.
get a mate to be in the car to get the four off fixing bolts off.
otherwise it appears to be the easiest job i have done. its not finished yet however...

Re: Convertible - suspension options - opinions please!

I have same issues at the moment. I have removed a lowering kit and considering getting rid of the telescopic dampers I owned a traveller 40 years ago but haven't driven others since I aquired my latest saloon and I too wonder if its actually a normal ride now. I certainly dont recall a harsh ride h...

Fast and hard is deffinatly not my thing, Especially in a car..
Im replacing the rack soon as its a bit clunky and once this is done i will look further into the ride.
I have spent $£€ on suspension set up on race bikes in another life and I hope I dont need it now ive reverted to a Moggie

Re: Softer Ride

Re: Starting problem

One thing my dad taught me to do many years ago was to remove the battery leads from the battery and clean them and the posts on the battery itself. Before reconnecting them smear them with Vaseline/Petroleum Jelly. This helps prevent a high resistance connection which could account for a big volta...

Re: Suspension/Steering knock

A common problem with Minor steering racks. You can overhaul the Minor steering rack yourself. Overhauling usually comprises of adjusting the shimming at either end of the rack and possibly the re-shimming the removeable knuckle on the end of the rack. See link below for parts and location of shims...
