No, the top ratio won't change one iota, since both Minor & MG Midget/Sprite gearboxes are direct (1:1) ratio in top (4th). :wink:

It is relatively easy, once the radiator has been removed, of course, and assuming you have a controllable enough hoist. Thanks for the reply, and good explanation. I'm amazed that removing or altering just the tiny bottom leaf can alter the suspension height by 2", or do you mean the largest/main leaf? Yes, definitely a HIF, similar to the one on my 1275. I have seen some folk use the conical 1098cc air filter housing with one of those K&N cone type filters like the one you have, fitted into the housing, which is a neat solution.

Do not know what the discharge will be with your alarm armed. My modern draws 0.25 amps when standing with alarm armed ( plus radio I think ). R.M. Sounds rather excessive! :o I would get that checked out if that's the case; it should only be a fairly meagre drain of 20-50mA or so at most with ever...

Well, I was quite amazed to see it there at the time (must have been late 1980s), but it had suffered an engine fire, and there was considerable damage to the front of the aluminium body. I suppose it was probably an insurance write-off, as it would have cost an absolute fortune to repair.

One of my favourites was a good old-fashioned huge scrapyard tucked away down a woodland track in Chobham, Surrey. Used to find gems such as Lucas SFT576 fog lamps, etc. for my Minor. They even had such exotica as a burnt-out aluminium bodied Bristol Beaufighter, loads of old Jags, Rover P6 V8s, etc...
