Re: Check your bonnet catches!

Bad luck. Very easy to miss oiling up the bonnet catch and safety hook. P6 Rovers were another car prone to this.

Re: The MG BGT passed another MOT

BGTs are one of the very best classics for daily use. Get a good solid one and blast it with waxoyl and it will do anyone proud. A rotten one like mine will cost a few quid to sort out though.....

Subscription on that link is only £19, reduced from the normal £29.70. Which is a bit more palletable!
4 pound 95 is a lot for a magazine, especially if it is as thin as Minor Monthly was.

Re: Emma's 1967 Minor Saloon

Welcome! That really looks like an honest, well maintained little Moggie, one which should be straightforward to freshen up. Its lovely to see one that has been in the same family for a long time.

Good luck with it, nice to see a 4-door being done.

Re: Look at this for rust! MGB sill..

My thoughts exactly chickenjohn. Every other B i've had has been bodged up with plates stuck on everywhere underneath etc. This one seems to have escaped that treatment so there are no poor repairs to cut out first.

Those sill covers went to the tat man....

Re: Look at this for rust! MGB sill..

Thank you wilfred! The fact that the B is so original and not bodged up (apart from those sill covers..) is why I decided to keep it and get stuck in to the work. I will check the area around the spring mountings, no doubt it will be a bit crunchy!

As they should be. Minors, like any car, are much more reliable with everyday use.

One of the best improvements I made to mine was to fit inertia reel seat belts, simple and far easier to use.
