Re: Brake queries, your advice sought...thank you!
Well Ive spent a number of occasions attempting to get under the car to remove / cut off / replace the corroded brake parts. A mixture of my arthritis and just having the car up on axle stands has meant awkward access and slow / little progress. So, Ive decided to take the plunge and get my local ga...

Re: Help needed with seized nuts...
Bit of progress today, used Dremel (and a cold chisel!) to get one of the front brake cylinders off. Hurray! :D It's taking a long time as everything seems to be rustedtogether, plus I can only do a little at a time (health issues), and access difficult as car is on axle stands so low down and can't...

Re: Where's Roy?
I've been away from the forum for a long time and just recently returned. Very sorry and sad to have come across this information. Roy always posted sensible, clear instructions / views on the issues and queries I raised, as he did for everyone else too, he was an absolute mine of information. It's ...

Re: Help needed with seized nuts...
Thanks for that Phil, I will get some Plusgas. I thought I was making progress as there was a little "give" when I gave it another try...however, the give was with the bracket and its started to tear the metal  I had been thinking of getting a Dremel (or equivalent) , think I will go ...

Help needed with seized nuts...
Hi, I am trying to progress with fitting new brake parts and am struggling at the second hurdle (first being the seized drums). The nuts on the flexible hose are seized /corroded together, I gave sprayed liberal amounts of wd40 but it won't budge. I am concerned too that I might rip off the metal br...

Re: Brake queries, your advice sought...thank you!
ESM package arrived this morning, I assumed that the "brake overhaul kit" would include all the bits to overhaul, but It doesn't  , had to order springs to hold on brake shoes separately also the flexible hoses that join to the cylinders. So, another order placed with ESM and hopefull...

Only got ignition light.....
Hi, my 66 Traveller is coming out of a number of years hibernation. Ive put on a new battery and have got the engine running but the only light which comes on when I turn the ignition key is the red one. I am sure there used to be more, any suggestions as to what might be happening, and what to do? ...

Brake queries, your advice sought...thank you!
Hi, my Traveller has been laid up in the car port for a number of years and I am slowing working at getting it going again. I have the engine running and have freed up the rear (previously seized) wheels. I am currently trying to free up the front wheels which are also seized, i have been unsuccessf...

Re: Restarting a laid up Traveller - advice sought
Good news, after lots of banging and pulling, the second brake drum has been removed, phew - sore fingers after that. I need advice on how much needs to be done ref new shoes, cylinders etc but I think I will firstly do a search then start a different thread for that. Thanks folks for the comments /...

Re: Restarting a laid up Traveller - advice sought
Yippee! Tried starting the car again today, lots of choke, and it fired and ran! Very pleased. Tried to drive forward a little but rear near side wheel is seized ( I managed to free up the rear near side), not a lot of space to work in as the car was parked to that side of the car port, still manage...

Re: Restarting a laid up Traveller - advice sought
Hmm, topped the fuel up a bit more just in case, left off the cap and tried again, no joy, just turns over doesn't fire up. I've read through various bits of Mmoc advice ref the petrol pump and think it's beyond my capabilities (or maybe beyond my confidence to try it?! :( I think I'll have a...
