Re: Ram Pipe Info

Well the K & N ones if you can get hold of one these nowday's are of quite a short length and believe it or not with an as cast finish rather than a polished one like the traditional ones made by the tuning companies years ago and I don't suppose it makes any difference if its made from allumini...

Re: how much are car batts from costco?

Our local Costco now only stocks later car batteries mainly for cars from 2000 onwards although their prices are unbeatable for quality batteries, what you need is somone who can quote the modern equivalent, as a matter of interest the standars battery for a Reliant Scimitar is the same as a heavy d...

Re: other people's headlights

This problem also seems to have started around the same time they started fitting an adjustable beam switch with the excuse it was so that laden cars could lower the beam but if you talk to some drivers they found it useful in the lanes on the higher position and left it there which only adds to the...

Re: Gearbox Cover Sealant & Inside of Chassis Leg

The first photo shows where the bichumin type of layer was and its definately not an underseal. The second shows some of it along with the rusty bits I have removed from inside the leg so far, the box is about 10"long and 5" wide, with the pile on the left being over an 1" deep. [fram...

Gearbox Cover Sealant & Inside of Chassis Leg

I am just removing my pedals for overhaul and have noticed that my gearbox cover seems to have a bead of sealant near the edge I assume this is normal to stop water getting in but I cant work out exactly what it is, what should you use Dum Dum or something similar ? Also on starting to clean out the...

Re: Teething Problems

If the starter keeps sticking you need to take it out and check that the shaft is nice and clean and don't oil it when you put it back or it just picks up dirt and will cause the problem all over again.

Thermal's will also help at this time of year, and I have one of those black rubber based sponge mats for laying on the floor, at our local autojumbles they are only £5 -£10 depending on size.

I always thought that sealed for life was a bit of a sales pitch and only meant that you were spared from greasing it and not that it would last longer, but that is just my opinion.
