Re: 295 head advise
thanks bmc,the measuring details are something that is much appreciated,is that the distance between the headgasket face and where the rocker cover goes on? i was thinking that the double springs would be too much for the standard drive train, and as its been sat in a garage for 20yrs or so i wanted ...

Re: New owner
Regarding the brakes,my current minor is as normal for a standard Minor, not brilliant, but they work. However,on my first Minor, due to the time it had been standing,i replaced every cylinder, copper pipe, hose and shoes/springs,together with new drums. The brakes on that were amazing!,thats drums with no...

Re: Views on fibreglass wings and questions
he is indeed a nice chap, but doesnt change the fact that the front wings are appalling, nothing was masked off,so there is overspray over the bumpers, bonnet, doors, chrome,no primer used, nothing sanded, and half of it missed at the front. This was discussed when i bought the car,if it was an issue i wou...

Re: Views on fibreglass wings and questions
there was indeed a grp door in bull motifs counter when i was there a few weeks ago,the problem(based on my reliant experience)is in the hinge area.Reliants have a 1/4" thick steel plate that runs along the inside of the door where the hinges go with captive nuts welded on,which the hinges then...

Re: And so the fun begins........
small outfit every time! i had 4 new Falken 12" tyres(not that easy to get hold of now, certainly at major tyre places) fitted to a Reliant Fox that i had 2 years ago, cost £76 inc vat, balancing, new valves, old tyre disposal, for all 4!(and thats also including all 4 tyres!) so yes,the price youve ...

Re: Heritage Certificates
a heritage certificate in the normal sense is the piece of paper that has details of the cars spec, build date, reg no,etc etc when it was built, new.not sure what the chap is going on about as only he has details of what restoration was done on it,no such thing as a certificate for that  It will ...

Re: Views on fibreglass wings and questions
mine has a pair on the front which the previous owner fitted, and then did a total abortion trying to paint them, rattle can from BM straight on top,no prep,no sanding, and he still managed to miss half the wings, yet get spray on the chrome :-? Anyway i will be remedying it soon.My opinion is its one l...

Re: OLD Top Gear,minor video
i dont know,it was just meant to show the characteristics of oversteer and how technology has changed,to me it put the message accross that the minor is a very safe car handling wise and easy to control even at the limit, where newer cars are harder to control at the limit.

Re: manifold gasket
before you do,check that it isnt the joint between the pipe and the manifold itself, this is a very common cause of this problem, start the car and put your hand near the clamp where the exhaust pipe joins the manifold,if you can feel it blowing against your hand, thats your problem. If it is the manif...

welcome to the world of the Morris Minor,i dont know what Charlie is charging you but you may have found it a lot cheaper to get one that has already been done and is well sorted. Manuals-for what they cost on ebay,i would get any you spot, haynes is good as a guide for quick jobs and data, the one to...

Re: National Rally 2010
when i was involved in the Reliant club rallies we had a similar problem,(im 21 btw) where there was little of interest to a lot of us camping,ie bingo, stupid games, poor "entertainers" basically we would gather in a part of the site and have a nice evening drinking and chatting,i would rec...
