Re: National rally 2019
Hi Dave - the info certainly does seem to be quite well hidden doesn't it? Which seems a bit daft.....and doesn't do much to encourage people to come if they're not members of the club. Anyway, I'm pretty sure it's £15 per car on the gate. Hope this helps and hope you come along. I shall be there in...

Re: Flashing indicators and trafficators
Exactly the point Richard - so the really bright flashing LED's at least make them a bit more visible - especially because people are used to noticing flashing lights these days. I agree though that a lot of drivers now wouldn't notice trafficators - and perhaps not even work out what they were indi...

Re: Flashing indicators and trafficators
Have you considered replacing the glow worms that live in the trafficators with self flashing LED's? I don't think you'd need to wire in an additional flasher unit then...

Re: faded indicator lens
Well you actually said they were faded - in which case any amount of cleaning isn't going to make them turn orange again! If you'd have said they were dirty then it's obvious that a good clean would do something....
Glad you're happy with them now though

Re: faded indicator lens
Just cure the source of the problem and buy new lenses!! For goodness sakes they're not expensive in the scheme of things and by the time you've spent ages fiddling about you'll never get them to look right anyway! You have to be prepared to spend a tiny bit of money occasionally to keep these old v...

Minors handle very nicely on Bridgestones. I ran mine at 26psi all round.

Yes it was the turbo I was thinking of - I seem to recall seeing an engine for sale a while ago but maybe it wasn't the original dizzy.

Re: Ignition
I had Accuspark in my traveller and also Series III Land-Rover. The lady has stood for over a year and started on the button. My traveller was my every day car for five years plus and I had absolutely no ignition problems (or anything else for that matter!) ever. Always started on the button and nev...

Re: Osmo Oil - Traveller Wood
I didn't know they did an interior one! My traveller was purchased by a large hotel chain and resides at a posh place in deepest Gloucestershire now and only a few weeks ago his woodwork looked as good as it did when I did it several years back now. If ever I get another traveller - I do miss Monty!...

Re: Brake conversion
I put Wolseley's on my traveller - dead easy, brilliant brakes with the added bonus that the back plate stops the king pin dropping off if it fails! Haha! As you say, rare as hen's teeth but I know that Richard at Minorparts of Oxford was advertising a set at a very reasonable price the other day. R...

I've had the pick up pie in the tank blocked before. Blew an air line down from the pump end and cleared it that way.

Re: Seat to steering wheel dimension
You'll probably find that the longer you own the car, and the older you get, the steering wheel will mysteriously move back towards the seat thus making the whole thing a snugger fit. A bit like trousers that hang in the wardrobe for a while shrink - the only remedy being the next waist size up! Enj...

Did I read somewhere that the first time you had to tax at a Post Office and that you couldn't declare it on line?

Re: maniflow exhausts
As per some replies above....I modified my original manifold with judicious use of the angle grinder and thin cutting disc. Fitted a HiF38 onto a separate Holley inlet manifold. Standard 1098. Made a noticeable improvement in overall 'drivability' and all worked beautifully.

Re: Solenoid?
You need to check there is power on the small leads to the solenoid - they are what actuate the coil in it to bridge the heavy leads and energise the starter motor.
