Re: Indicator Problems

Doubt it. It is, as they say, precipitating down.

But I was in the garage all day so I hardly noticed.

Re: Indicator Problems

Part of me was trying to keep it as original looking as possible but as I said Im not building a concourse vehicle so practicality won in the end. So this weekend, Ive the passenger door to finish filling and then paint, repaint the drivers door, finish fitting the bonnet lock, bolt up the front gri...

Re: Indicator Problems

Decided to stop buggering about and just rewired the indicators. They are now working just fine. Im sure it was the relay that was faulty.

Re: Indicator Problems

Thanks for that diagram. Much appreciated. I'll check it out tonight and if it turns out to be the cause Im just going to replace it with standard 12V relays. Ive already removed the brake lights from it as Ive fitted later wings and lights so its no bid issue t o do the same with the indicators. Im...

Re: Indicator Problems

I have belled each cable end to end and Im happy nothing has changed.

I can only think the relay has failed or I have a bad earth somewhere and its not operating correctly.

Re: Indicator Problems

Right, with everything disconnected and by bridging out the left then right indicators I still get nothing. A new flasher relay that I ordered up at the weekend, just in case, arrived and I tried that - still nothing. I can feel the coil(s) of the large relay energizing but dont know precisely what ...

Re: Indicator Problems

I did put the old stock back on and it wouldn't work either.
I'll play about a bit again tonight.

Re: Indicator Problems

No. I can hear either the relay or flasher relay operating and the repeater light on the stock flashes once or twice but the indicators do nothing.

Indicator Problems

I had to replace the indicator stock on my Morris this week with a new one as the Bakelite on the stock had broken beyond repair. Up to this point the indicators had been working just fine. Now they dont! I've belled out all the wiring and everything seems fine but I cant fathom out whats wrong. The...

Re: Almost done - And about time!

The first 2 years was nothing but cutting and welding. Went through 2 x 5kg reels of MIG wire and heaven knows how many bottles of Argon/CO2.

Re: Almost done - And about time!

Ive actually only driven it twice. Once home and once to a show the following weekend. As it was the last show of the year it went into the garage for a "tidy up" and its been there ever since! So yes Im dying to get it on the road and as it gets nearer completing Im looking forward to tha...

Almost done - And about time!

Re: Horn Problem

Its definitely a challenge. Fortunately the Minor is reasonably simple, but then its the simple things that have been causing most of the problems. But hopefully Ive learned my lesson. Its taken 17 years because Ive restored 3 Land Rovers in that time as well as plodding on at the Morris. Ive now go...

Re: Horn Problem

Found the center for the horn push. It was literally right in front of my face and must have been there for months. I just didn't realize what it was for. So now the horn works, onto the next problem!

Horn Problem

The last electrical problem I have to sort on my 62 is the horn. Ive fitted new horns and they work just fine up to the point I connect them to the horn push, which is where I think I have the problem. Am I correct to say that the horn circuit if complete when you press the push and the connection i...

Re: Fuel Leak

The horns work. I fitted two new ones as the old were done and tested them from the wiring behind the dash. The problem I think is in the column Im just not sure where. Didn't get to it tonight as I was too busy trying to sort problems with the rear lights then the heater. Im so close to finishing t...

Re: Fuel Leak

Well its been a good few days now since I opened up the float chamber and Ive run the engine several times now and so far (fingers crossed while touching wood) there has been no more leaking fuel. Hopefully thats one problem resolved. Now if I could only figure out why the horn push wont work..........
