I used to make teas for workmen when they were doing stuff in our previous road, if I was in during the day. They were always very pleased to get a hot cuppa! :)

What he said - crikey, what with loud music, lawnmowers, screaming kids and barking dogs, I think there are mroe irritating noises to complain about than a bit of car repair!

I'd've been round to see if I could scrounge some help for my motor, personally.

Yes, I keep telling people this, but unless they've owned one, it's really hard to convince some people that old cars aren't all death-traps.

If it's a rear seat belt, then they wouldn't have been standard on any car until well after 1965? If so, you could just remove the rear seatbelts as they are not a legal requirement in early cars and then you could rectify the problem at a later date when it's more convenient for you. I'm going to b...

Ooh, such drama! :) Glad to hear the car's safely off the road - what with the government zeal over trying to get rid of old and untaxed cars by any means necessary, I'm very surprised that she stood there so long and wasn't towed and crushed!

Grrrr!

I keep getting outbid on fleabay, and I desperately need a small chest freezer. I only have limited funds, so no luck and freecycle doesn't have anything like that being offered.
I'm just getting very annoyed, needed to rant a bit. :(

Luckily I have to wear latex gloves anyway to keep the paint off my skin, so at least if I have to touch anything this person touches, I can just bin them.

Dan, I'm the same, funnily enough - I'm not squeamish at all, but because I lack the facilities to hunt/fish/raise my own meat animals, don't eat the crud for sale at the supermarkets. Now, if I went small game shooting or fishing, I'd quite happily skin, gut and cook it all myself. And just for the...

Oh that's good to know, thank you! :) Like I said before, it will take me a couple of years and it does depend on whether I have anywhere to store such a car - on-road parking isn't the best option by far for a Moggy, I do have some off-road that could easily be converted to a covered car port. All ...

I'm glad that the leaflets are going out, as I work with at least one person who has no idea of basic bodily hygiene. Yuk.

Saving for Another Moggie

Hello all, as some of you may or may not remember, I used to own 'Ector, a slightly run-down Traveller of '66 vintage. He's in a good home now, awaiting restoration if all goes well, and I'd like to get myself another Traveller, however, price is a problem - as it ranges so widely! Even like-for-lik...

Hm, somewhere betwwen 90 and 100 mph in old 'Ector, bles his soul. Not bad for a Traveller with a ropey engine, although the guy in the Jag I overtook (after overtakling the wildly swinging caravan and the Volvo pulling that at over 80) didn't look too impressed. But at least he didn't try to undert...

Yep, the ones around here are okay too - I've had mini-Death at the door tonight, along with a three-foot--tall witch, a couple of fairies, a very young Catwoman, and a bunch of hoodies with cheap latex masks - they were all polite, and all the small ones had parents with them, so they all got sweet...
