Isn't the master key red on Punt's?
I thrashed one around a few years ago and it never gave me any problems other than tyres cause I gave it so much stick. Fantastic engine - you'll love it I'm sure

Oh, one more thing.... The filter cartridge cam with 2 large rubber O rings, 1 thick and 1 thin. I assume the thick one seals the bowl to the housing? but where does the thin one go pls?

Correct Oil Filter Assembly ?

I've looked at 2 manuals now and they both show different order of steel washer and sealing washer.
Can anyone confirm if its....

1 - Spring, steel washer, sealing washer, top plate, filter

or

2 - Spring, sealing washer, steel washer, top plate, filter

Thanks (again) :P

I have an old Sprite engine and box lying around so I may rebuild that and slip it in. Do you know if the ratio's are the same in a Sprite box? or should I just swap engines over (nowt...

Timing gear off !!!! Engine out !!!! Oh Man - This is turning into a major job :-( Thanks for the torque figu...

Thanks for the advice. Attached a pic of the centre main. No sign of a spring or plate in the filter housing. I'll go check the manual to see what it "should" look like :-(<br>Image<br>

Question for the Engine Experts

Just dropped the sump on my 1098 to investigate what sounded like crank rumble. Took out one set of big ends also. There does not appear any crank movement either laterally or within the main bearings. The big ends don't look too bad and are marked as standard "STD". However, there is a lo...

Re-Chroming ?

Has anyone had any experience of re-chroming any parts. Specifically I need my rear bumper smartening up. Typically, how much does it cost and does anyone know a good place to use?
