Make a key for this locking fuel cap
Hi, I have this locking fuel cap which I managed to unlock without a key but now need a key made for it. Anyone know what make of key it uses or how I can get one made for it.[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1385478314_19533 [/frame][frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1385478324_195...

Re: Brake pedal stuck at top, no handbrake
Another mini success. Got the cover off, I managed to un-screw three screws by getting a drill bit that fit perfect and turning it with a wrench. Three drilled out easy and I will worry about clearing out the holes another time. On opening the pedal bit is stuck fast, think the seal on the end of th...

Agreed angle grinder is a harsh way to go and yes very easy to do damage, more than needed. I sucessfully managed to drill out some screws that were stuck on the brake master cylinder cover. So may try that method by carefully drilling the end of the bolt and nut bit till they snap off.

Hi Richard, I will do just that. Anything that doesn't come off with a little persuasion will now be destroyed.

Re: Paaro - Morris Minor 1000 1957 4 door restoration
You definitely need the wheels off, before putting penetrating oil on it's best to wire brush the muck off or the oil will be absorbed before getting to the right place. Also you don't want dirt stopping you getting the spanner or socket fully on the bolt, they will be tight! I've decided i'm just ...

Re: Brake pedal stuck at top, no handbrake
Thanks, i'm going to pickup an impact driver. I'm off to a large auto jumble on saturday so should get one there along with a load of other things I need. I tried the long screwdriver with my full weight trick but no budging.

Re: Paaro - Morris Minor 1000 1957 4 door restoration
Well stripping a car is a slow process when your limited to some evening and some weekends. Anyway i've started by removing the boot lid and boot floor. Trying to get the wings off next but the bolts are proving difficult, rust penetrating spray has been sprayed. Will probably have to take the wheel...

Re: Brake pedal stuck at top, no handbrake
I will give the whole brake system a check. But first any idea how to get these little bleeders unscrewed! They are not budging one bit, instead the screw head is starting to get damaged. [frame][/frame]

Re: Replace all floor or patch it?
Do I HAVE to remove the engine and gearbox to tip it on it's side (Is it just to keep the weight down when tipping it?) I have worked out I have enough room if they stay in the car or am I asking for trouble. Headlining is shot already and i've got my missus ready to make me a new one. :P I'm happy ...

Brake pedal stuck at top, no handbrake
Hi, This is my first attempt at getting my brakes working. My foot pedal is totally locked at the top, any amount of hard pushing gives no movement. I opened the front brakes and checked. It all looks like it's fitted right but I got nothing when I opened the bleed nipple and my assistant pushed dow...

Re: Replace all floor or patch it?
Nice one. This thread is interesting. So many pictures for ideas. I could.never get her on her side as I have no means of taking the engine and gearbox out. Safest bet for me is just get under it. I will order a sheet of metal and get practising.

Yes you are right when you said to me yours was in worse shape than mine! Although I can see quite a few similarities in the work they both need doing.

Re: Replace all floor or patch it?
How are we getting on ? Hi, Well I have managed to get her heart pumping again (Engine started woo hoo). Next I was hoping to get the brakes fitted, hopefully in the next few days. So then at least I can move her out of the garage without getting a backache each time... Most of the "tools"...

Then quickly find her another one lol
I think welding is the hardest thing on cars, especially when you can't do/or struggle to do it yourself.

Shame, the interior looks in really good nick. And the headlining is great.

This seems like dejavu of my thinking last week! You gave me some good encouragement so here's some back! Sit back and think how you could get it done. Maybe with some help. Have you tried remocig rust from the areas to see how bad it us etc. Don't give in!
