Re: Wall Calender
If you use the link I posted on the right side of the page it gives 4 different stockist including Amazon, :tu1: None of those would open, but thinking about it, I have a Pop-up Blocker on my browser... So just in case, I put that website on as an exception to the Blocker Rule, and still nothing ha...

Re: Wall Calender
Not seen any, but you can always get your own made from somewhere like Snapfish or Photobox.
Photobox have some offers on at the moment.
Using a company like that you can usually change the start too, so you could order it from March to March for example.

Re: Cast welding
Equally, J-B Weld can be used for a lot of repairs. Although a snapped of mounting bracket might be too much sideways force when refitting. I think its perhaps best at holes or cracks. An interesting Blog read here and it's only about £5 if you want to try it.: https://inboxq.com/jb-weld-for-aluminum/

Re: Cast welding
As I understand it, the answer is YES,... and NO. It all depends on the type/grade of aluminium and the amount of impurities in it, how dense it is etc. Even the casting process involved when it was made, some casting like sand moulds allow the molten metal to cool slowly which allows gas bubbles to...

Sad to hear your news; perhaps the Doc is wrong and you've got much longer. They can only make an informed guess after all.

Re: Dynamo charging rate
Don't go blaming the Dynamo I'm not blaming anything at present Berni, simply seeking information. I watched a video on U-tube that goes over what you mentioned above and covers the two adjustment screws on top. So, with my meter as a guide, I am thinking of adjusting his charge output up and then ...

Re: Dynamo charging rate
The Control box consists of 2 Coils, the Regulator on the Left, the Cut Out on the Right. The Cut Out disconnects the battery from the system until the engine is spinning the dynamo fast enough, to stop the battery motoring the dynamo. That coil operates at about 12.7-13.3v. The Regulator coil is se...

Re: Pumping out fuel
Just don't even think of using a domestic vacuum cleaner to empty a fuel tank. I heard of a guy in Wales who tried this, and was surprised when his cylinder vacuum cleaner rapidly embedded itself in the wall of the house opposite. What do you call a device that sucks in petrol and air, compresses i...

Re: Period Correct Paint Colour?
Trafalgar Blue pre-dates the introduction of the black speedo by quite a bit  It was a colour option on the last of the 948cc cars from the end of 1961. I owned an original Trafalgar Blue Minor with the silver speedo, pull switches and banjo steering wheel many years ago. It was paired with t...

As a last resort this might be the case, but I'd like to find out why it worked one minute & not the next Looking back to your first post, I see your car is only a year younger than mine and mine had a new loom fitted around 1999. :o So the answer to your question is because that wiring is arou...

Re: Loss of lights
You've spoken of the Top and Bottom Fuse, so I;m assuming you have this arrangement, since the later fuse box was mounted with the fuses vertical, side-by-side, not horizontal. This is not my car, it's one I took from the internet as my car has a modified arrangement, thanks to a past owner. Ignore ...

Re: Converting positive earth clock to negative earth
On the subject of capacitors, this Youtube clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNiztRfaNzY&t=935s is very instructive in regard to their construction and self-repair capabilities (specifically from about 17 minutes onwards but the whole thing is well worth watching and, for electrical numpties...

Re: Converting positive earth clock to negative earth
... don’t connect the red illumination wire as it will feedback through the car lighting circuit, i.e., the clock will illuminate continuously draining the battery when the car lights are off and when the car lights are on the clock light will be off. Regards John yes, I hadn't thought of that, wel...

Re: Converting positive earth clock to negative earth
Looking at that, there's a Red cable for an inbuilt lamp, and the Yellow powers the clock.
You'll be OK so long as the case is insulated from the Car Earth, i.e. the body or metal mounting bracket.
So mount it in an all Plastic Gauge Holder bracket and you can reverse the connections.

Re: Loss of lights
It really does help to have a Workshop Manual ..... The language used can sometimes mislead too. ...both were intact & the bottom one had 12v , whereas the top one only carried 1/2 a volt. When you say that do you mean you measured across the fuse, one end top the other, or were you going from t...
