Re: Ran out of fuel, now have issues.

While you are messing with the distributor, try a new condenser.

Re: Valve sizes

The blanking plugs are quite difficult to remove, I found that the best way is to weld a wheel nut to it and then use a long breaker bar.

Re: gearbox bearing shims

If you heat a magnet to its ignition point (cherry red) it will lose all of its magnetism. I would be tempted to silver solder rather than braze as its cooler.

Re: gearbox bearing shims

I assume that you have read this from the Dorset branch? https://www.dorsetmmoc.co.uk/wordpress/tech_articles/gearboxrebuild.pdf If so, are you referring to the shims at figure 5? If so the shims are there to take up any play due to the tolerance from the machining of the front and rear cover. They ...

E10 petrol? Gummed up jet? I would be tempted to take it for a good run and then see how it goes.

Re: Wheel spacers

Are you fitting alloys? if so I'm pretty sure ESM sell them, they are about 5mm thick and move the wheel out just far enough to miss the suspension. You only need to fit them on the front. You may also consider fitting longer wheel studs. https://www.morrisminorspares.com/wheels-tyres-c94/wheels-tyr...

The disk on the left is for steel wheels the disk on the right is for wire wheels when fitted to a midget. The only difference is the hight.

Re: Midget disks

No, I'm thinking of using the standard steel wheel hubs which I have fitted at the moment. The main problem with Midget disks is that they fit so close to the suspension the calliper fixing bracket has to be inboard of the 4 hole backplate fixing. Using the wire wheel disks and the steel wheel hub m...

Midget disks

Has anyone who has fitted Midget disks to their Minor ever considered fitting Wire wheel disks to the standard Midget hubs? This would move the disk about 25mm further outboard and allow the calliper bracket to be outboard of the suspension leg so that all 4 fixing holes could be used.
