Can any one remember "castrollo" upper cyl. lubricant
I still have a considerable amount of this left that I use on my sidevalve engined Morris cars it seems to be as good as the unleaded petrol additives, never had any valve trouble although I also give the exh't v/v increased clearance like bmc ecosse

Re: higher ratio diff
I had a 1300 engine and one way to increase the final drive ratio is fit 205X14 rears on wide wheels, keeps the revs down and the tread just fits inside the wheel arches.

Re: HELP i need some one ...Help...its hurting my head
Easy start isn't a good idea, if it doesn't start it washes off all the oil from around the bores and you end up with a siezed engine if you leave it for any legnth of time. Is it turning fast enough?

Re: Help... two cylinders not firing?!
I agree with Mike, head gasket sounds like the culprit, its unlikely two valves would stick open at the same time. Good luck.

You can buy an additive from lawnmower shops you can put in the petrol tank that keeps it in good nick and stops it going off and losing its volatility so I am told.

Re: Anyone fittted an RC 40 exhaust ?
Yes, both mine have had RC40's on they last about 6 years. Lay the full system out on the garage floor, then and you will see that as the exhaust on a mini is in the centre of the car move it over to the left turn the rear silencer ove and you have to cut off the inlet to it to get it to join up and...

Re: 1098 low compression Vs. high compression
Hi, I have a 1098 with a piper 270 cam and it runs well with the bigger HIF38 carb like BMC says. It doesn't come onto the cam until about 2750 rpm but it revs well. This type of cam runs better in the 1275 eng.
Cheers.

Re: Engine Test
Hi, its quite easy to make a wooden test stand with a couple of old engine mounts to bolt the engine to, a lot safer as well. Best to put the starter and dynamo on with fan belt plus silencer. I had one for years but eventually it got adapted for other jobs and ended up as firewood. just put a hose ...

Morris Minor Pick Up
My Pickup has no chassis plate on nearside engine floor as it has been renewed at sometime, but the No. on the top of the nearside scuttle bulkhead on a small plate is 221993. The car No. on the morris motors plate obviously has been restamped on to a new plate and reads MAUS not MAU5/162835. its re...

Re: New Front Brake Drums
Just had a look and tickled up the high spots after 23 miles and they are bedding in ok. I had a look at the rears that came from the same supplier 2 years ago and they have 180mm max wear cast into the face, 7.086 ins. They not half produce a heap of black muck these new type linings. My morris 8 i...
