compression,or lack of

Hiya all, just checked the compression on my sidevalve.Seems to be low. What should I expect to get?By low I mean less than 100.Pistons are a good fit in bore and no smoke from exhaust. All the best,John.

Hiya all, well I tried the compressed air in tank ,to no avail.Took off the connection on tank and blew the air line up pipe.No problem here, full flow at carb end.Looks like the tank pickup is blocked.I will investigate further!!!All the best,John.

Many thanks to both of you.I will try out the air line first .If no luck ,looks like the harder option.Like your car Ray ,mine has been off the road for a similar length of time.So it looks the more likely option.Once again, thanks.

Hiya, sounds like the rear main oil seal to me but if you have replaced that correctly then I suggest you look for a crack in the alloy sump. All the best, john.

Thanks again Cam.I was thinking more of a straight oil,but maybe it would be too thick.I will stick to a multigrade. All the best,John.
