Re: Citric acid in block
I would have thought that flushing it through will just dissolve any acid residue now?

Pete I can't quite remember (it's been a few years since I did it!) but does the adaptor have a tapered thread so it seals without a washer?

Smart motorways will only work if the people using them have enough neurones to make a few synapses! The roads generally seem to populated by Homo Pillockius these days sadly.....

I put a full stainless system on Monty (my traveller) and it still made a SMASHING 'FARTY' sound!

Apparently a mixture of diesel fuel and acetone (nail polish remover) works very well to loosen fittings. I've never tried it myself but have heard its good stuff

Stixall is cheaper than Tiger Seal and comes in Black, White, Clear and maybe Grey too. It works just as well as Tiger Seal and will stick just about anything to anything. Easy to use and clean up after too.

Re: Filling wood joints and removing Trav door handle
I had a small bit of wood starting to go at the bottom of the 'B' pillar where it joins the 'sill' piece - the curved part. I cut it out and scarfed in a new piece of ash firstly treating all the wood behind and around with wood hardener (it's a solvent based solution containing plastic - when the s...

Yes that's Monty! They call him something else now though and have wrapped him in that yucky green. He's really Almond Green.
Did you see him fairly recently?

Yes I used mine every day to go over Charnwood Forest to Loughborough from Enderby - all through that bad winter we had around 2010/11 ish. It did live in the garage overnight of course but was in the works car park all day and I didn't even dry it off when I put it away after work. I installed trac...

Re: WOOD OIL
OSMO OIL!! Just don't bother with anything else. I used a Skarsten scraper to remove all the old stuff on my Traveller when I got it and gave it two coats of Osmo Oil. That was in about 2010. It was my daily driver for several years through the winters and everything and the wood is still in good co...

Re: Traveller sealant
I have found Stixall to be excellent for this sort of thing. It comes in a cartridge but for fine work I fill a syringe and use that. Black, white, grey and clear are available. It's similar to Tigerseal but cheaper. Cleans off with water before it cures. It's an EDPM rubber I believe so stays sligh...

Re: Distributor prices
I fitted an Accuspark complete dizzy to my Traveller and also to a Series III Land-Rover. Neither of them missed a beat - I ran the Traveller as my daily for seven years - NEVER failed to start on the button. Land-Rover sits for long periods and does the same. I understand why people say have the or...
