Re: Fitting front speakers

Chris.... please accept my apologies. I said I would provide more info and I forgot

I hope the pictures I posted were of some help though? I'd be interested to see the final result. I haven't fitted mine yet - parcel shelf and carpets to go in yet.

Re: Seat belt anchor bolt thread stripped - can it be fixed?

I was thinking of going for a sideways T shape instead. I'm in negotiations with my local steel fabricator :D

I suspect that once we get above a certain speed we're on thin ice anyway, regardless of seat belts

Re: Seat belt anchor bolt thread stripped - can it be fixed?

Thanks for the details and the picture, it's a big help. I was at the cow shed working on the car today and sure enough there's no bolt in the A pillar where the belts were anchored. The bolts were just threaded through the thin steel :o I'll put some bungs in the holes and get some of these bracket...

My thought was that you had the pump wired up the wrong way? It would still turn, but not as efficiently. If you're sure everything is connected correctly....

The bearing that was in the car is on the left. The 1098 bearing is on the right of the picture.[frame]Image[/frame]

I had a similar problem. Changed the fork, bearing and pressure plate but the engine is still out so I don't know if it's a fix!

Re: Seat belt anchor bolt thread stripped - can it be fixed?

[quote="Declan_Burns"]This is how mine are fitted. Regards Declan Declan, that's how the passenger one is fitted at the moment (correctly & safely!) but it is a static belt and keeps slipping off the shoulder. I've got a pair of snazzy red inertia belts to go in, as soon as I get those...

The L shaped brackets look perfect. Can you supply approx. dimensions/thicknesses please? I might be able to make a pair at my car restoration night class and save myself 40 quid!

Re: Seat belt anchor bolt thread stripped - can it be fixed?

OH!!! Thanks. I've looked through my photographs of the car (car is in storage) and the driver's belt is in the higher position[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1363037664_17715 [/frame] I've got new inertia belts to fit but I'll have to reposition them. There's another job to add to the gr...

Seat belt anchor bolt thread stripped - can it be fixed?

Has anyone successfully repaired the B pillar upper seatbelt mount? Mine has had the thread stripped and the bolt won't hold. Maybe a helicoil job? What thread size is it? My Securon seat belt kit doesn't tell me the thread size :( The seat belt has been moved down - see picture - but this is an unc...

Beero, I have flashing brake lights with front indicators. Original to the car I understand. I think I have the correct wiring diagram but if it seems wrong, I'll take you up on your offer. I've started replacing the various connectors including this for the horn[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.ph...

Headlight wiring 1962 - what route?

As the attached pictures show, the wiring from the headlight switch, via the dip switch, has been altered. Probably due to failed switches in the past. My headlight dash switch has been removed and the foot switch bypassed. What's left is a steering column mounted stalk with main/dipped/screen wash ...

Re: Change of polarity

The reason I did it was to fit a modern radio and tracker, both needed negative earth. Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered - and didn't for my first 10 years of ownership. If it ain't broke... and all that. I think you have to make the change if you want an alternator too? Not sure why older cars wer...

Re: FUEL SENDER UNIT FAULTY ?

Cheers Dave I'll remove the sender unit and test it like you suggest -(presumably if I remove the sender unit and the float has a hole in it I'll know why its reading empty !!) many thanks Matt I hadn't thought about the float having a hole in it - I always over think things, so I'm told :) I don't...

Re: FUEL SENDER UNIT FAULTY ?

Sounds like it :-? If you have a multi meter, remove the sender from the car - remembering that petrol vapour is flammable - set the meter to a resistance setting then connect one probe to the sender housing and the other to the electrical connector. As you move the float, the resistance reading on ...
