We did announce it last week on the old board and confirm that it was due today.
Yep absolutely, I'd just entirely forgotten ;)

Not a criticism at all, lets hope this is more reliable than the other one....

Re: New Messageboard is now live

Have to confess to that being a slight surprise this afternoon! :)

But so far so good, it even allowed me to post this...

Do you think it likely that the colour scheme will get updated, or is this it? (I'm sure there are far more important things, so tell me to jog on if you like ;) )

I'd use thin aluminium, never warp or worry about water:

Re: Sodium v LED Street Lights

Not alone, for sure, I prefer the sodium lights over LED from a driving perspective. I live in a rural area, but do thread through street lit villages and approach roads where they are street-lit. Many of these lanes are not that wide, and the tendency to cut corners is always there, from myself inc...

Yes, a bit astounding, was a lovely car.

No crash is good, but I know what I would rather be in.

Re: Do you guys feel safe driving your Moggy??

Yep, to be fair, small cars back then we're all much of a muchness, remember the Citroen AX? Complete featherweight with fibreglass panels, I'd imagine that would fair very poorly indeed.

The GT was a fast little thing though!

Re: Do you guys feel safe driving your Moggy??

I think our cars are more solid than some of the modern cars, This is absolutely not the case, the effect of Euro NCP has made a 30mph accident into something solid something that people walk away from. If you ever get to look at the monocoque of the modern vehicle there is reinforcement after rein...

Re: Do you guys feel safe driving your Moggy??

No, absolutely not, they are a death trap.

Vehicular safety was in its infancy at the point of design, and didn't really improve much during the production span.

My biggest worry is what would happen to your legs in a head-on impact, a cage as you describe wouldn't do much to help, unfortunately.

Re: fuel gauge not working

Whilst on this subject, anyone know of a source of the earlier senders?

None of the usual suspects seem to have them in stock, and haven't done for a very long time.

Re: Driving Technique

You people are spoilt -currently running an 803 gearbox behind a 1098 ;) Never need to double-declutch on the way up from 1 to 2, only down into 2. 1 is only used when stationary, as any rolling speed means 2 is fine to pull away in. When stationary, dip clutch, pause for half a second for the gearb...

Re: alternator overcharging

99.999999% certain that the fault is not within both Alternators. I would suggest the probability is a LOT less than that given the number out of the box faulty stuff I get -and having handled a couple of the alternators I am convinced they are the cheapest Chinese knock-offs I have ever seen, so w...

Re: alternator overcharging

The loose wire I mentioned above was the sense wire, inside the alternator, I would take your old one off and check it, it may be a common fault.

Dismantle and check, I had similar issue intermittently, only to find a loose wire inside!

P.S. the whisky recommendation was a good spot and welcome post in the run up to Christmas and New Year.
If I'd seen it in time I would have heartily agreed too!

Re: Follow up

Im so confused why someone would be allowed to make life so difficult for someone else, without club management intervening and sorting it out to an acceptable manner -that may be not what happened, but perhaps some clarity needed? Whole thing makes me very sad, good volunteers are very hard to come...
