Re: Cruising Speeds 1098cc Motorways etc
My last car was a totally standard 948cc (with only trafficators.) I drove it from Glasgow to West Yorkshire and back last summer on the M74/M6 and various A roads. I found the car fine at 60-65mph, though I used arm signals to pull out to change lanes on motorways as the trafficators tended to stic...

Re: Fitting an aluminium GB plate to car
Like the plates! UK doesn’t look right on a Minor in my opinion…I don’t even think it looks right on modern cars for that matter.

Re: Securing outer choke cable?
Thanks Berni. I think I follow. So, slacken at the carb…pull inner through a bit tighter to increase the tension, re-tighten securing nut and that should do the trick?
Out of interest, I don’t suppose you know what size that tiny securing nut is?

Securing outer choke cable?
I’ve just fitted a new choke cable, which is now operating correctly. (The old cable had become kinked during engine mods and as a result the outer shield moved with the inter cable.) The new cable was lubricated internally with a little oil overnight prior to installation. Anyway, when pulling the ...

Re: Help what fuel to run?
I think practically everyone I know with a Minor runs it on E5 Super Unleaded. Over winter I add a fuel stabiliser. I wouldn’t put E10 in mine, but it’s your call.
I run my modern car on the same stuff.

1 random user post. Name with random numbers after it. Smacks of spam/bot etc.
Why would an actual human join a forum group and post that as a first post? Doesn’t make any sense.

I don’t think it’s as bad as these butchered Travellers. Don’t mind some customs but I don’t like these, especially the “pick up”. Rear window line of a Volvo 740! Also on eBay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204293838275?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=6s1dbv9zr6k&sssrc=2...

Re: Drive it day 2023
Glasgow Moggies teamed up with the Mini Clan and the Scottish Branch for a lovely run from Glasgow to Prestwick Beach. Some other interesting cars from Ayrshire Classics popped along too.

Re: Government Alerts
A few points being made here about authoritarianism and control in relation to these alerts. I‘m inclined to believe they’re intended for good, but have the potential to be misused. However, I suggest the recent book ’Stolen Focus, why you can’t pay attention‘ as very interesting reading indeed. The...

There is a British Saloon Car Club of Canada and the North American Morris Minor Forums. Links to both may be found below (click then scroll down to North America). The there may be other Canadian clubs but these two should serve as a good starting point. https://glasgowmoggies.com/links/ Good luck,...

New smart motorways have now been banned by the PM. Welcome news, but would be better if he’d commit to removing existing stretches too.

Re: HS4 carb needle
Thanks Phil. I’ve decided to save hours of faff and guess work by getting an SU carb tuner from the mini scene to set it up for me, profile the needle etc.
