The lights are rated the same wattage its just more as light with halogen. So in theory you don't need to change....

But if you will be running a lot with lights on then an alternator will probably be a good investment.

Do you have the heat shield fitted over the copper fuel line to the pump? The fuel line tends to heat up because its above the exhaust and the fuel boils. a rocker cover is no judge of an engine.

I'm 99% sure mines a 1275 marina engine (especially when I compare it against the marina manual I have) but at sometime in its life an MG cover has been used! I'll get that swapped for a nice green morris head some time soon.
