Re: Spare tyre/wheel-does anyone not carry one?

Tyre Weld may be OK if the tyre is not seriously damaged . My wifes car has no spare and was supplied with tyre weld and a small inflator . Problem was , when she had a puncture , the tyre was beyond being inflated due to damage . Not something I would rely on if a spare wheel can somehow be carried .

Re: petrol pump paranoia?

Memories flooding back. I’m sure many of you will remember the two stroke oil dispensers on the forecourt . The vintage Vindec bike in the YouTube clip ( Vindec was Brown Bros trade name ) would have been made by the Comrade Cycle works in Darlaston for Brown Bros . Comrade was founded and run by my...

Wise words — my father always used to tell me to ‘ get the choke in as soon as you can ‘ due to potential wear on the cylinder bores through the rich mixture .

Re: Young enthusiast Bangers and Cash

My father bought me a 1935 Austin Ruby when I was 17 ( 1962 ). The deal was I had to service and maintain it myself . Re: Morris in for service

Clutch plate possibly ‘ stuck on ‘. Had a similar problem on a Westfield . Lucky to have a long downward sloping drive so started the car in gear( jumpy start ) at the top of the drive with the clutch depressed and ‘ drove down the drive —- came off with a large ‘ bang ‘. Hope all turns out OK.
