Re: inside door panels

when moggies left the factory they would have a plastic sheet covering the triangular holes in the door to keep water off the inner door panels. if the plastic is missing i would look to replace it

Re: MGB calipers.

yes they can fit and i did it for exactly the reason you point out i.e. the MGB calipers are readily and cheaply available. they are not a straight fit and you can either modify the hub as i have.. http://mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=37917&p=375584&hilit=mgb+caliper#p375584 or modify...

looking at these series 2 seats the later covers will not fit correctly unfortunately so you will need to continue your hunt..

Re: Axle Brackets

they are handed but not angled because they are for modified minors and as such you do not know where the handbrake cables will be routed after the bracket to the back plates and you do not want to route the cable down if it needs to go up or vice versa

Re: Wiper motor

not sure what you mean by a "lug on the end of the gearbox" but it may well be possible to swap over the gearwheel, it is the gear wheel that controls the sweep of the wipers so you could have the correct sweep, the connection between the wiper motor and rack is the same between lots of lu...

Re: Electric fan

i can not recommend a fan from personal use as the last time i did it i took one from a metro. things to be aware of, if you want to get a slim fan to fit between your radiator and front grill make sure it is a "push" fan as opposed to "suck\pull". If you decide to fit it in the ...

Re: New rear reflectors (automobile quality)

The original ones never clean up well, remaining very matt. While it's all apart anyway, it might be worth drilling out the mount and fitting a powerful red LED, fed from the brake lights. OK, it's no longer "original". But neither is having the car's rear end re-shaped by a BMW! Looking ...

Re: Stolen Cars

if you have a disk lock park the car with the wheels on full lock before fitting the disc lock. no it will not stop them dragging the car onto the trailer but hopefully it will make a bit of noise and attract some attention.

Re: 1098 4-speed to 5-speed

hopefully this might help.. a 3.7 diff does not suit a standard 1098 engine, i have one in my car and the next job on my list is to remove and change back to a 4.2. I do not do that much motorway work and the 3.7 makes driving in town just rubbish as i have to work the engine harder than i would lik...

Re: Ital 1275 engine and gearbox

from what i recall the original mounts will not be ok, the gearbox tunnel is ok but the gearbox bell housing will need to be modified. I think the prop shaft will be too long. the fan will hit the radiator so the oil breather pipe will need to be modified as well. it might be worth considering takin...
