Re: wiring in electric windscreen washer pump
Yes, everything works perfectly well on my old Minor without modern additions too - although I must confess I have added flashing indicators rather than the trafficators Keep it simple!

Re: Lining
Definitely fit that panel BEFORE you fit the rear window but I can't help with where you'd obtain one. Newton Commercial? or ring around the Morris Minor specialists? Have you got the old one as a pattern? You don't find old Minors in local breakers yards anymore do you

Re: Door hinge pillar
Almost all of us I would think. I pretty sure that ESM are now the biggest Morris Minor parts supplier in the UK. I restored my car and purchased most of the repair panels from them. The panels were good quality and good value for money. Most fitted very well all things considered. I'd have no hesit...

Re: Carb question
Another point - since you suggest that the car is seldom used. How old is the fuel? Modern petrol goes past its best quite quickly and that will also cause a car to run poorly.

Re: replacing traveller sills
If the inner sill strengthener has rusted away then you must have a seriously rusty Traveller. It attaches inside the section of the sill which is inside the car and (generally) covered by carpet and to which the seatbelt bolts into. You can't really replace the inner strengthener without replacing ...

It is an old publication from the early days of Practical Classics magazine but still a worthwhile read and much of the information is still relevant today

That will depend on when in 1959 each car was built as the design changed around March of that year.

Re: Help with query on model of car
In all probability the indicator (trafficator) switch and hornpush are original to your car as that type was introduced around March 1959 - replacing the earlier type switch which had a hornpush built into the end along with the bullmotif steering wheel centre to cover the centre nut. Chassis number...

The small, more modern "R" clips can be a better idea. Worth a look at anyway

Re: 1959 “Winnie” what grey is she?
Photos often distort the actual colour - and BMC did produce at least 50 shades of grey But I reckon it'll be either Clarendon Grey (Code GR6) or, perhaps more likely, Frilford Grey (GR5), both of which were used on the Minor 1000 in the late 1950s and are rather similar.

The boot handle has simply come out of the escutcheon I think. The speedo and banjo steering wheel look correct for a 1959 car as far as I can see

Re: What paint colour is this please?
Neither of those were offered on the Minor 1000 however. In period, Island Blue was an Austin colour seen on the A35, A55 etc. Mineral Blue was an MG colour and also offered on the Wolseley 1500. Nothing wrong with using a different colour but, as you say, you're very restricted if you stick with a ...

Re: What paint colour is this please?
The nearest (somewhat later) British Leyland colour I can recall is Tahiti Blue. Used on Marinas and Allegros and everything else in the Austin/Morris range in the mid/late 1970s. It could be anything though. IF the OP is trying to get it matched he'll have to take a sample to a paint shop and obtai...

Re: What paint colour is this please?
In my opinion the colour is definitely NOT original any more than the (later model) interior is - or the registration number for that matter. It may (or may not) be a later British Leyland colour but that doesn't really matter either way if originality is your goal. It is certainly none of the stand...

Re: Morris Minor centre (bath) radius arms
Don't forget that there were TWO Morris Minor Centres in the Bath area at one time, each selling their own ranges of parts. This leads to some confusion! "The Morris Minor Centre (Bath) Ltd" and "Charles Ware's Morris Minor Centre" which was based in Bath. Often these two busines...

Yesterday at Kop Hill climb in Buckinghamshire, several Minors attending. Photos below. Many elderly and exotic vehicles to look at. A fantastic event as usual - only dampened by the rain during the afternoon.

What is the history of the car? Has the engine seized through standing or mechanical failure? How long ago did it last run?
