Re: quality battery charger
Forgive me I should have said, I did say you will pay more for quality, we always do, £90.00 inc vat.Expensive to some, priceless to someone else. Prior to this I had a Gunnerson plastic bodied type, it was ok, but it clearly was built to a price, not a standard. As a radio amateur I also want elect...

quality battery charger
I received today a new battery charger, almost an essential item in these temperatures with a standing car. I have no allegiance or association with the manufacturer, but they do make them here and it is very good quality. Worth a look in my opinion, though you can get chargers from Halfords for a l...

Re: blimey!
This was my post, perhaps I was in a state of shock, but I didn't realise it was a Charles Ware car either.
Maybe its a halo car, priced high to make the others look cheap, not that Charles Ware Ltd has ever knowingly undersold

Re: Weatherproofing your Mog!
My main concern is prevention of tin worm, via a mix of salt and water at this time of year. Water in itself on a well undersealed car I don't see as a major issue, but salted roads are a nuisance. For that reason I keep Doris garaged at this time of year, firing up the engine from time to time to k...

Re: blimey!
I recall Roy stating years back, it can only help raise the value of the cars. A very valid point, but I wonder if it also puts people off owning a Minor ? If they glance at adds like this and decide its too expensive a hobby for them.

I wonder whether it would be worth our powder and shot to soak typical seals in the various fuels, to examine over time the damage done ?

Re: Alexa in a Morris!
My dear old Mum is 88, shes really in to tech, tablet, i phone, alexa in the kitchen etc. One day I visted and asked Alexa to "just shut up" and you know what ? She did. The nearest I get to this is spotify, I use it all the time in the Honda, but in the Morris ? I thought about looking fo...

Re: Young enthusiast Bangers and Cash
My other hobby, Amateur radio was at one point all home brew. When the older hams (I am a sprightly 63) bemoan the fact that fewer people make their own radio equipment, I like to ask if they drive, invariably the answer is yes, when of course I ask if they maintain the car themselves I am usually g...

Re: Wheel clamp
I use a disklok for security.
I dont know if there is an advantage over one of these.
Both would be better, but its where to stop isnt it ?
Anything that makes the little toe rags shove off.
I have been meaning to get a good old fashioned battery terminal lock as well.

Re: How many tools is enough?
You put your ratchet in one end and attach a socket to the other.
I once needed to get at a gearbox mounting bolt and simply could not get in up against a bulkhead.
With this I snapped a socket on and drove it from the other end, it is very simply a toothed belt drive in a nice housing Phil.

My problem is, just when I think I dont need anything else, someone invents something that "will come in handy even if it never gets used"

Re: carpets
My feelings are they are much of a muchness when considering the pile. I think from fitting mine that one key point is to fit underlay of some sort for a little noise damping and also to give a plusher feeling under the feet. One area of concern to me was when I came to fit the centre consul carpet,...
