As kennatt says oil based paint will take forever to harden enough to flat.Its best used to paint your house.Any half decent autopaint factor will mix you the proper stuff and match the colour spot on.

If unsure which type of pipe to buy just take the old one to the place you were going to buy a new filter from.They'll sell you a length of the correct stuff,buy a couple of hose clips at the same time.

Chrome plating IS expensive.It's a labour intensive job.The parts you mention aren't exactly that expensive to buy new from the usual suppliers.Quality is another thing though.

This is it with insurance companies.Basically I think theyre almost all con men.Every year you get a renewal notice(classic or everyday car),its always disappointingly more than you expect.Invariably calling them ends in a reduction in the quote!In their perfect world we'd all just pay without quest...

The fact that youre asking that question suggests that you dont have the skill to prep the car to a good enough standard for a respray.Its that basic prep that defines a good paint job.The top gloss coat is the easy bit.I doubt any reputable paint shop would even risk their reputation putting a nice...
