Re: Seperating rusty bullet connectors?
That's not much of a problem. To me, Gremlins implies weird stuff like wrong indicators flashing, or brake light flashing when the indicators work. These are just a couple of non functioning lamps. I'm going to take a guess that the car is post 63 and not a Traveller, so a common earth for the rear ...

Re: Indicater Flasher too fast
If it's got a traditional Flasher it will probably be marked on the can as something like one of these: 12V 21Wx2 12V 21Wx2 +5W Max 47W !2V 42W How fast is it going, the legal flash rate is between 60 - 120 per minute so that's quite an acceptable range you've got. What indicator system have you got...

Re: Seperating rusty bullet connectors?
Hi, I have electrical gremlins and reckon I need to give as many connectors as I can a good clean. Earlier I tried pulling the right indicator bullet connectors apart, but they seem to be somewhat rusted in place. Is plus-gas safe on electrical connectors, will it affect the rubber in anyway etc? N...

Re: Indicater Flasher too fast
Has it always been like it or is it a recent change in rate? Is it the same speed both sides? Have you recently changed it, or anything else in the system? These may seem like silly questions, but you wouldn't believe the number of times a simple question like this is asked and the Poster doesn't in...

Re: E10 petrol and valve settings
https://www.fbhvc.co.uk/news/article/fbhvc-clarification-on-e10-fuel-usage-and-labelling-for-historic-vehicles Lots of info here. Not really, it's the same old list of what may/might be affected, but in all honesty, when it comes to individual vehicles, it's about as useful as the mandatory list of...

Re: London in the 1920's and the 1930's in colour
I found a video channel on YouTube a couple of months ago that would have interested you, however inspite of the channel looking official (logos, copyright information etc.) it appears to have been closed down for violating copyright by the real owners of all the content. There's plenty of Look at ...

Same some suitable looking chain in my local The Range today, selling it as 'Clock Chain'. https://www.therange.co.uk/diy/hardware-and-accessories/ropes-and-chains/nickel-plated-clock-chain/#241155| You can get a whole Mtr for £2.79 :) I think they're in La La Land saying it "can be used for an...

Re: Petrol cap chain
Go to your nearest DIY store and get a short length from the large display they'll have?
Typically, sink plug chain.
Or about £2.50 on ebay.
No Minor 'usual supplier' is going to keep short lengths of such a common item, not worth keeping in stock.

Re: Traveller Interior Light Earth
I've got to sort mine out as well. I assumed that after running down the door pillar the wire connected to the door close/open switches so that when either door is opened a connection is made to ground, turning on the light. The ground connection local to the light may be for the switch on the ligh...

Re: LED Headlamps
Late to the party but I'm interested in fitted suitable LED replacement headlamp bulbs provided they do indeed do the job. My concern is the beam pattern on the road: it's pointless to me that the lights appear brighter when looking into the glass lenses if I cannot see in front of me when driving!...

As previously mentioned, buy modern electric ignition. No more problems. Only problems are people giving you negative comments because they simply dont like it. I dont know 1 single person who has not said it is fit and forget. I've had it fitted to all 3 cars for over 10 years now. A few years bac...

It went for £155 in the end, so well worth it as spares I image.

Re: Steering Wheel Removal - it's stuck fast!
Once it was off there was a tiny amount of surface rust, but I wouldn't have thought it enough to be a big issue. You'll surprised how much 'Stiction' can come from a slight layer of surface rust between well fitting smooth surfaces. Had you applied any lubricant/penetrant, I don't see it mentioned?

Re: Traveller Interior Light Earth
Looking at the wiring diagram it appears there's a black earth wire that runs back from the light, down the windscreen pillar and connects into the loom. I'm intrigued by the idea of you actually having a wiring diagram that shows such detail. The only official diagrams I know of are the schematic/...

I thought aeroplanes were slightly ahead of cargo ships pollution wise. Some stats here about aircraft. https://www.atag.org/facts-figures.html Aviation is quite high, but it's also doing a lot about it. Shipping not so much, with estimates their emissions are set to rise significantly. https://ec....

Re: Unusual front seatbelts
if you look in the workshop manual (R55), it illustrates a high up mounting like that for '4 door and Traveller'. Convertible and 2 Door is supposed to be way back over the shoulder. I can understand that for the convertible, but I don't totally understand why the 2 door should need to. Unless it's ...

And things are so good now in GB according to Boris & co. Remember it's UK now, not GB - its changed to be more inclusive to allow for Northern Ireland, hence for foreign travel GB plates have been replaced with UK :) Yes, for those not aware of the change, see here: https://www.motoreasy.com/m...
