Is the electronic dissy usable for Positive earth set up?
Re: tyres
I read that article. It was one of the PC team project cars. Yes, a bit mental the choice of tyres. I very much like the mag though. Should write me thinks.

Re: Anyone used these tyres on their Minor?
I did wonder if the 'only for temporary use' was only relevant when fitted as a spare on a modern car, as the other 3 tyres are a different size.

Door cards
I would be grateful for your help. 1) Is there a product or a way of bringing faded door cards up to muster. AND 2)is there a way of removing paint over spray from said door cards (I've tried celly thinners, white spirit and bleach, all to no avail)

Re: Diff question
I did one of those a few years ago. Not sure how easily the bearing (numbered '52' on the Moss diagram) can be removed without damage. The key for fitting the Pinion shaft is to have a few different size shims (no. 74) because it's a trial and error basis to fit. (Although, if you have 2x diffs to w...

Re: What motor oil ????
I was informed that Comma make and supply oil for all the 'Wilkos' and 'halfords' etc in this world. This was from the 'Fat bloke' down the local vehicle factors.
Don't know how true this is though. Anyone?

Re: fitting of Kick plates
On this subject and just a thought. I've recently added a bead of clear silicon (and then over-painted) at each end of my kick-boards because I've only just realised why all four corners of the boxed sections have rotted out! I've only ever removed the box kick-boards on two occasions, both times to...

As mentioned I have also used these for the throttle. Simply cut the 'barrel' ended one off. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MTB-INNER-AND ... 3a758e310f

Re: Brake shoe replacement advice
It could be the 'triple-sprocket spring' impacting on the 'Clonker-motor'. Also worth checking the 'gangle-pin' for excessive play.

Re: STARTER MOTOR TO FLYWHEEL CLEARANCE
A 3mm (approx) spacer/washer is needed on the shaft and a touch of epoxy glue to hold it to the bottom of the shaft. The bendix will have to be removed and I think a special tool is required, unless someone knows differently. I say this due to my own failed attempt to remove it myself. I did toy wit...

Re: TYRE SIZE
According to that rim calculator, cars running with 145x80x14 tyres should have rims, no less than 4 inches wide! And for certain, those exceptionally wide 155x80x14 tyres should never be fitted to a 3.5" rim either.
Joking aside thanks for the info Roni. Very useful.

Re: Mixture
I've fitted a K&N before and found the mixture needed to be adjusted. On another note If you have removed the carb or manifold recently, I would recommend that you check for air leaks. Re-tighten the retaining nuts and any vacuum pipes etc. I say this because recently I had an issue with the eng...

Re: Engine Rebuild
I notice those pistons have circlips to retain the gudgen pins. I didn't think these were fitted as standard to the 'Minor' 1098 engine, where there was a preference for the press fit type. I mention this as the pistons may not be standard and so you will need to take note of the piston serial numbe...
