Re: The new addition to the family (my first traveller)

Just for now I would invest in an inexpensive cover for the car to save any more water getting in. This will also mean you can remove side windows to work. Make sure it has some form of tie to go under the car otherwise it will blow off.

Suggest you either put a post in the For Sale section or the Free section. It will get more viewings that way.

Re: Umbrella

Club merchandise used to have umbrellas (don't know whether they have any left) You need to ring the Derby office 01332 291675 (perhaps next week when they are back at work) Problem is unless you can collect it's difficult. They can't send them through the post at the wonderful Post Office used to l...

Re: FRONT SCREEN STILL PROBLEMS

As above this is the first time you have mentioned that you bought a different screen. I think we all assumed you were having trouble fitting the rubber to the original screen. Do you still have that screen? If so measure it against the one you are trying to fit. Is the new screen a laminated one as...

Looks like a lot of welding has already been done - rear 1/4 panel (behind driver's door) in red primer etc. Good project to start on. Welcome to Morris World! :D

Re: Bonfire night

Diwali (Hindu Festival of Lights) was 11th November and lasts for 5 nights so we have at least 2 weeks of fireworks around here. This year they started early to celebrate Halloween and it's still going on night after night starting about 6pm ending midnight! All my animals make sure they're in by 6p...

Re: Another log book and id tag on Ebay

Good! In my opinion the worst thing they did was to scrap the MOT for pre 1960 cars. So many people are now pulling vehicles from barns and driving them home! OK until they have an accident. An MOT test is a very good check for steering/brakes/corrosion etc. Personally I would prefer it if any vehic...

Re: Another log book and id tag on Ebay

If you have a 1960 car with no documentation buying a late '56 car's documents means that you can avoid the annual MOT test and save your self money. It also means that in future there will be vehicles on our roads that are moving death traps!

Re: Can anyone tell me anything about the seats i have?

That certainly looks like an interior for a 2dr saloon. I'd say '57onwards. The driver's seat adjusts forward/back to allow for different leg length of the driver.

Re: Just bought car - turned headlights on and car cut out

Was the car delivered to you or did you drive it home? What state is the battery in? Check this before removing anything else. It may be an old battery.

Re: REAR SCREEN MORRIS 1000

^^^^ Agree with above. Use plastic coated washing line - it protects the rubber seal - string is too thin and cuts into it.

Not heard of any. I think they simply sprayed whatever was supplied to them under the colour "Smoke Grey" for example.

Thanks for posting this up. Is it possible for you to put up some pictures of the car as I'm certain someone will be interested - also an idea of it's location and maybe a contact number?

Sadly not reunited with my first Almond green 2dr BUT whilst browsing Morris Minor spares at a 3 Counties show in Malvern 4 years ago there was her boot complete with her registration plate! This has now been resprayed and fitted to my convertible. So a little bit of Miriam Morris goes with me every...

Re: Genuine convertible or not?

Only if you are happy to pay £5,000 for the car. It's your money. If you are worried you will not get your money back look for a cheaper car. Most of the people on this site buy a car because they want a Morris Minor to drive and enjoy - not many buy them for an investment :D Some years the prices i...

Re: Genuine convertible or not?

A good well converted convertible is worth that. Genuine ones do come on the market but there are not that many around. Hence many 2 drs have been converted.

(Speaking as the owner of a converted convertible)
