Re: 4 Door Saloon Kick Plates
Expect to file to fit a little from wherever. Had no noticable problems with the old LMC ones or the ones ESM supply. I do paint them in silver original hammerite both sides,

Re: Re-registering a 6 chr number plate?
I just happen to get annoyed with all those old cars now going around with things like UXM or whatever letter combinations that they would not (normally) have had, also somewhat annoyed with my father for not transferring the old regs we had on (none morris) cars of the past that fell apart/ damaged...

Re: Seized brakes advice sought
After suffering in a relatively cold garage, and fighting computer issues, finally released the n/s rear and the fronts. Amounts of WD40 around the studs , etc and leaving overnight things got moving. Found another thin but substantial hammer in the in-laws toolbox and a 2ft length of quarter in squ...

Re: re Door opening / closing issues - help required
I'm thinking it is wear or misalignment in the rearmost locating plates also contributing, as the B post becomes less 100% vertical over time , with the handle end of rear door adjusting itself. This happend in BMC 1100/1300s too.

Should there not be a U shaped metal bracket that covers part of the steering column here bolted on and with nuts on the engine side of the bulkhead?DAVIDMCCULLOUGH wrote:The air comes in from 2 small circular holes near the steering rack!

I think that I would like to see an MOT fail sheet, overpriced at that price, but do-able if you have the time and facilities
Re: Rear seat
Indeed, designers of road humps (particulary those in car parks) should be forced to ride in the rear seat of a 4 door saloon for 12 hours of mixed motoring , 3 of which around Dover House Road in Putney for starters followed by two circuits of wandsworth bridge roundabout at 30mph in the wet then b...

Re: re Door opening / closing issues - help required
Is that on a rear door. Seems to be occuring on both mine , for many years, I can only assume it is wear in the door handle itself, no real way to adjust that I can see and replacement door handles I think unobtainable. One of those annoyances we live with, mind you , keeps the baby-snatchers away f...

Dynamo Repair Rebuild Identification
Under mechanical as either the spare out of the pile has a problem or I am not fitting it correctly, The Lucas dynamo appears to have a too large cooling fan on it, fouling the adjuster bar in all but one angle (that seems incorrect for fitting to the 1098 engine). And naturally the bolts that held ...

round hose clips ? Do you mean the wire type ones used by BMC in the 70s on 1300 transverse engines ? I alway tend to replace with the Proper Jubilee Hose clip with a touch of petroleum jelly on the screw faces, are these no good for anything other than Rubber hoses ?

Having soaked (probably wrongly ) one set of shoes in WD40 in effort of moving a drum, I assume the shoe linings are now scrap, or would it evaporate off after a quick use ?
