Update on my brake problems, I checked the clearance at the master and it's set with a gap so the piston is fully back. Found a hand held vacuum pump on *bay for much less than an Ezibleed, was suggested before by a member which looks easy to use and cleaner.

Good point, I did quickly read the gunson instructions on line and didn't see any mention of holding the peddle down on some cars. I'll try again, thanks.

Just tried another mod before I buy a Ezibleed, connected a pipe from the front tyre valve with the pressure let out to around 20lb psi. modified filller cap the other end....nothing, fluid doesn't move on either of the front bleed nipples.

Hope i'm not going on too much about this subject but are Marina hubs and Midget hubs the same depth, ie measured from the front face to rear where they bolt to the disc.

Safety first I wouldn't forse any fixings, yes they are all imperial. Some early Midget disc sizes are 7.5" I believe, the new pair I've just bought cheap are are 8.4" diameter. Marina disc's are 9", so it's the extra leverage of .6" combined with a bit better caliper which makes...

I put Wolseley's on my traveller - dead easy, brilliant brakes with the added bonus that the back plate stops the king pin dropping off if it fails! Haha! Thanks Phil. So could I use a bit of mixed bag, IE: Midget hubs and 8.4 discs with a good used Marina / Midget caliper and a new Grumpy bracket from ESM. Just trying to get the best stopping power and value using a mix of used and new parts. I have a remote servo in store, so if it's needed, so be it.

If I did go for this mod I was thinking Ford caliper, Fiesta or Ka etc.. yes I could make up a bracket but would sooner buy some, would the bracket be the same the J type I doubt. If making some I guess with adjustmenst to the caliper bolt holes would be needed, the Ford calipers look to be cheaper ...

Keep out that smelly diesel smoke from cars in front with this mod, works well and being an air filter dosen't cut the air flow from the fan blower. don't forget to block the hole at the end with piece of glued card.

Tried two or three times to stop the leak from the axle drain plug, used ptf tape and Holmar sealer still leaks. Can anyone tell me the thread size please, I thought of using a bolt with a copper or fibre washer.

One thing has stayed the same all along is the fitment of an electronic distributor, timing has been adjusted but still believe that's the main problem. I may go back to points and see what happens.

Checked the web and some folk say it's impossible for an engine to run backwards, well I have a running on problem with my engine when the ignition is turned off. H6 needle arrived yesterday for my car with the 12g940 head fitted, not had a run out in it yet as it's being painted but started well and best of all ran smoothly, so looks like the carburetion is about right now many thanks.

Just fitted a 12g940 head to my 1098 engine with alloy inlet and standard exhaust manifold using a HS2 carb. Can't get the carb adjustment right by fiddling with the bottom nut, idle not constant and no extra power at the moment, what needle would you recommend?
