Thanks for reply Rob,the carburettor is spotless in and out.Jet centred correctly and piston free.Just can’t see anything wrong anywhere.Despair time now.

Checked that this morning Rob,all ok.
It will start instantly with a whiff of easy start but the cuts out.Does this point to carburettor? I can see nothing wrong with it though.

Hi all,still having problems with rough running on my ‘52 side valve.Rebuilt carb,reground all valves and all valve springs are same length.Tappets set at 17 thou timing checked.Compression roughly equal on all cylinders.Trouble with initial starting and then engine ‘hunts’.What else can I do? Running very rich
Hi all,after a carb rebuild on my ‘52,I am having trouble with very rich mixture.Nothing I do seems to make any difference to this.I have checked and rechecked the carb and can see nothing wrong.Am I missing something. Also,are the jet seals available separately?Or is there an alternative? Thanks,Jo...

Hi,it’s the timer switch.It is wired as per diagram but the actual contacts do not seem to connect as timer is activated.

MM semaphore switch
Hi all,having problems with original series MM semaphore switch.Managed to get the mechanical side of switch to work but not the electrical side.Has anyone had any luck repairing these old switches?

Ok,bit of progress.Just removed the dynamo/water jacket.Full of congealed anti freeze! It’s a new one from ESM three years ago.Never seen this before,what would cause the a/f to congeal like this?Not checked the thermostat yet Phil.

Well blades appear to be the correct way round.I have no photos of the fitment but is the same as philthehill’s photo.I will check the thermostat opening temp but is boiling water an accurate check?Does it not need pressure as well?
