Re: Water in passenger footwell

For horrible moment there I thought I was back in the Land Rover Discovery 2 forum and was going to suggest you started by checking both sunroof seals and drains. :D

Re: Leaky windscreen

Having re-sealed the sunroofs on our Discovery 2 I still had a very small residual leak which I sorted with Capt. Tolley's.

Re: Wildlife

We have no lawn in our garden, front or back, but instead the garden is full of flower beds, plant pots, plants and flowers. None of our neighbours have much in the way of garden at all - just a neatly mown lawn and slabs/gravel. There are so many bees in the garden it has become risky smelling the ...

Re: Cheltenham/Cotswold area and the Kelmarsh National Rally event

Martin,

If you make contact with your local MMOC branch (Gloucestershire?) I'm sure you will find others heading to Kelmarsh. Details can be found on the MMOC website or in the magazine.

Re: Cheltenham/Cotswold area and the Kelmarsh National Rally event

Martin, Welcome to Morris Minor ownership and the Forum. Can I strongly suggest that you do not publish your e-mail address on the Forum as next thing you may find is that it is on a spammers or scammers mailing list. Instead ask people to send you a Private Message (PM). You should be able to go ba...

Re: Speedo needle swinging wildly

Thanks for your guidance @simmitc - I managed to loosen both screws without too much trouble today. Maybe I was just tired yesterday. The next problem I have hit is that the speedo cable is too short to pull the speedo out enough to unscrew it. I may be able to loosen the various clamps and slide it...

Re: Speedo needle swinging wildly

I have finally got around to looking at this but fell at the first fence in that I could not get the screwdriver into the screw heads to loosen them. If I use a torch and a mirror I can see the screws (both Phillips), and I have a spare speedo so I know exactly where the screws are, what size screwd...

Re: Advertisements

We never watch commercial TV live, even if we want to watch it as it is being broadcast. We always record it and then start watching the recording about 15-20 minutes after the programme has started, fast forwarding through the adverts. We usually finish about the same time as the live broadcast.

Spotted yesterday in Brecon. No sign of the owners, and my battery ran out after taking this one photo.

Re: Insurance

That's ridiculous. I renewed mine today and got a small (6.5%) increase plus a discount which brought the figure down overall. Time to look elsewhere I think.

Re: Subject line in e-mail notifications

Oh, no it's not.

It looks like the subject line gives the topic description if you reply to someone else's post as well as well as if someone replies to yours.

Re: Trafficators

Our 1959 Traveller has both working trafficators (non-flashing) and modern indicators front and rear. I can't see a downside to having the trafficators so I would keep them.

I've just noticed that if the notification relates to one of your topics then the subject line does indeed contain the topic heading.

Re: How to get my car valued for insurance?

Our Traveller has an agreed valuation. We came up with a figure, the insurer asked for some info and a list of photos and they agreed the figure. We upp'ed the figure a couple of years ago and just had to repeat the process. I guess an independent valuation might be useful if you have no idea what y...

Subject line in e-mail notifications

Currently the subject line for e-mail notifications is pretty basic - New topic in "Mechanical" or Reply in "Mechanical" which means you have to look at each e-mail in turn to see what the actual topic is. Can the system be configured to include the topic description in the e-mai...

Secondly, what 'tinkering' did you do?
