Re: temp gauge wiring

Yippee! Thanks for the info Roy. For anyone thats interested it turns out that the Smiths gauge is in fact polarity conscious, I switched the terminals on the back of the gauge in desperation and it works fine and dandy. As a point of interest to anyone remotely thinking of fitting a temp and oil pr...

Re: temp gauge wiring

Connect to the same terminal as goes to the fuel gauge. You can't really measure the stabilised voltage - may see it as a pulse as the bi-metal strip makes and breaks. Roy, gave it a try this morning, the second photo shows the blue spade and the terminal I have connected it to which is a spare spa...

temp gauge wiring

I refuse to be beaten  The photo shows what I believe is the 10 volts regulated connection for wiring to my temp gauge. I tried the connections and in all cases get a high reading typical I believe of an unregulated supply. Am I in the wrong place to wire the thing or is there another problem?...

Re: National Rally photos

I built a "cobra" once but it wasnt a cobra.I even badged it with cobra badges. It had a V8 but thats almost where the similarity ended. Of course it was the same shape as a cobra, it sounded a bit like a cobra, it was no where near as fast as a car once called "a real mad bas"$&q...

Re: Running awfully, suspect points...

This is I suspect something plenty of people do but its a might difficult to write down. You tube is full of videos on how to do it,type in "replacing points" you should invest in a set of feelers though, as of course you will need them also to set the plugs gap one day, also fag papers an...

Re: Scotland National

Somebody mentioned about events being held where most of the population is, (I believe they mean London, in which case most Londoners dont believe life exists outside of London), but that is simply untrue. What about Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Glasgow, Edinburgh? Some of the UKs most ...

Re: Scotland National

It costs a lot of money to stage the National Rally & these costs have to be recouped - in previous years when the rally has been held further North (eg Scunthorpe) of further South (eg Bremore) there has been a low attendance & the rally has lost money. Rog I dont doubt the reasons for pla...
