Hood snap fasteners.
There are two, positioned into the wooden back rail, through the bottom of the hood. These need to align with two snap females on the hood bag, so their exact positioning will be unique to your car/hood bag.

Rob, surely the middle hoop must fit with the ends pointing downwards, certainly mine does. Its arch won't be in line with the front and rear otherwise.

The indicator bulb in my switch did not work until, inspired by this thread, I connected 1 and 2 together with a small piece of wire and BINGO everything now works as it should. I replaced the switch recently after the old one failed totally.

I agree with MarkyB, especially if the system is "dry". I've used silicon fluid for 30 odd years with no problems, firstly on a TR2 and now an MM. Have never had problems bleeding. I maybe refilled the TR once but that was because of other issues. Over time I'm sure it's actually cheaper! ...

The cylinders are easy to clean-up. A finger with fine emery wrapped around it is a suitable tool!
