Re: Cold start rattle

I’ve come to this vernier/micrometer discussion late During my apprenticeship at GEC Diesels I spent a great deal of time in both the toolroom and inspection departments If high accuracy was required micrometers in various forms (and there are many) were used or often slip gauges and DTIs, never Ve...

Re: Charging battery of modern car

I think you only need to be careful if you are considering boost starting/ charging I have cooked an ecu carrying this out on a Scania in the past however the voltage did reach over 36V which is the point at which most ECUs will start to alarm (18V on 12V systems ) The DC output from a charger does ...

Re: Rear lighting / fuel sender loom routing

Hi, I don't know if others have had trouble with the wiring to the back of the Morris Minor before but on each of the three I have had there have been issues, that basically stem from the route taken by the wiring harness to the rear of the vehicle. Namely underneath, with no protection from the el...

Re: Door Fit

That’s a great document . As you said..
Page 136 (bc2) shows:
item 3 ( 14 off )
Item 17 (24 off)
I’m thinking item 3 are the bolts that hold the wing with 7 each side
Not sure what item 17 is. I haven’t looked at the vehicle yet

Re: Door Fit

Well it has improved things with the washers so thanks I still have an issue with the door seal particularly around the door latch area close to the corner of the rear window If I remove this it closes easily and I can see the seal is very squashed in this area I think it has had a repair in this ar...

Re: Door Fit

If you put a shim between the inner hinge bolts and the 'A' post (but in reality the hinge mount panel) the outer edge (hinge pin) of the hinge will move forward in an arc around the outer bolts. If you shim the same top and bottom the rear edge of the door will remain parallel to the 'B' Post. So ...

Re: Door Fit

Again I don’t understand To me if you add anything anywhere between the hinge and the A pillar I will be moving the door in the wrong direction The door to B pillar line is parallel but to close I need to move the door forward towards the wing If I “rock it” in any way i will lose the parallel line ...
