Re: Traveller cover
My traveller is under a Stormforce cover. I wasn't initially impressed as the car deteriorated badly over one winter but I think that the rot was well established anyway. Since the restoration, including a new frame, the car has fared much better while under it and it is out in all weathers. One thi...

Re: Heater Spruce Up
I was just being silly. I didn’t mean to be rude. Yes indeed my wrinkles are not identical to the original. I was going to use the Sticky Fingers decal but when it arrived I didn’t think it was going to look right. I had a bit of an eventful day with heaters yesterday. The heater valve on the engin...

Re: Heater Spruce Up
The heater fascia should be crackle/wrinkle.Very poor attention to detail And your wrinkles don't look like the original wrinkle pattern, so poor attention to detail on your part too! https://board.mmoc.org.uk/download/file.php?id=12116 Did you mean this company when you said Sticky Fingers? ...

Heater Spruce Up
I had Ted's heater to bits for a clean up when he was under surgery. The front plate was painted satin black but looked a bit drab and started to get scratched https://i.imgur.com/2HklxZd.jpg I was planning to use some Letraset to fill in the heater position lettering but couldn't find anything suit...

Re: Head Gasket Woes Fixed
Panky may come back with his own ideas but here is a brief overview. The reasons for fitting a 940 head on a small block engine is to do with the breathing. That is getting the air/petrol mixture into the cylinder and the exhaust gasses out. The larger the inlet valves the more air/petrol mixture y...

Re: Head Gasket Woes Fixed
No problem and I'm very happy to give an bit of insight to the modifications I've done over the last few years. I'm a natural fiddler I just can't help myself. When I first got Ted I absorbed all the modification information I could from the forum gurus like Phil and BMC Ecosse. I couldn't afford a ...

After removing the rocker cover to re-torque the head studs I can confirm there is plenty of oil getting to the rockers.

Re: Head Gasket Woes Fixed
Yep that's the one I wished I'd opened the port up a bit. It's the feed to the rocker shaft but every gasket I've used has the same issue - there should be enough oil through the port but there's no harm in opening up the port with a small burr to aid oil circulation to the top end. Maybe next time ...

Head Gasket Woes Fixed
Earlier this week Ted developed all the symptoms of a blown head gasket that had failed between cylinders. As it turned out it was between three and four Could this be the culprit? https://i.imgur.com/aHmaYIK.jpg The head was cleaned, valves lapped in, checked for flatness, new head and rocker pedes...

Re: Front Supsension NOVICE advice needed
If you do delve into the front suspension to replace the bushes then be very careful and seek help when you take the tension off the torsion bar. There is a procedure to do it safely shown in the manual but with your dyslexia you might need someone on standby to talk you through it. Not necessary ju...
