I'd have a word with the supplier too.

I replaced the 7 leaf springs on my Series 2 with later 5 leaf and she has still got her bum pertly in the air :)

I always carry a big jack, spare fuel, oil (no comments!) and up to 4 passengers (it was a squeeze)

I hope to be able to make it.

All depends whether the gearbag in Elisabeth lasts till then.

Otherwise I'll be in the car without gearbox :D

The difference in floor should be easy to spot as well, seeing than LCVs have flat floors, unlike the Saloon derivatives.

headlining is about 30 pounds I think, and takes a pro not very long to fit, so no more than 100 pounds all in I'd say

I am considering taping mine in all the way, keeps the rust at bay and the clamps won't fall off.

I'd go with Cam's idea but have it in Platinum Grey.

Would be nice to have a chassis number before SMM/1000 :D

You could use a Metro water pump, those don't have the bypass (I think...)

I'd love a SV SSBB

I think it was actually Lou (not a bloke) who came up with the idea for the originals

It worked for nearly 11 months though with this set-up.

But to get back to my actual question, what goes wrong with the coil when it breaks?

This was a points coil, as per instructions of the electronic ignition.

In other words a bog standard Morris Minor coil, be it a modern replacement one. She now has a 60s Lucas one on.

What makes a coil overheat?

Hello all, I had a coil fail on me, as you do. What can makes things stop working? I can really only think of heat. Thankfully I was on my way again with a spare one that has been sloshing around in the boot for two years... When I eventually arrived at my destination, the replacement coil was only ...
