If a replacement was fitted and didn't solve the problem, it's quite possible that both pumps are actually OK. If you haven't already done so, I'd test them both before buying a new one.stevespickup wrote: the fact there are 2 identical pums would suggest a replacement pump was tried but unsuccesfull.

The overall diameter of 165x13 tyres will be around 6mm larger than 145x14s, assuming both are standard profile, ie 80%. That shouldn't be a problem.

Engine number seems to be L2V/586F/H2957 Could the engine number actually be 12V/586F/H2957? If so, it would confirm that the engine is 1275, originally fitted to a Midget MkIII for the home market.
