the wings were nos with british leyland stickers still on them?!! i had though about cutting a slit in the wing to open it up so that it matches the profile, so its just a case of cut and make it fit then?

ok thanks i thought bonnet edge should finish flush with the chrom finisher no doubt we will be corrected!

help required please! i think bonnet should finish flush with chrome finisher? so whats not quite right here? it is a new bonnet new inner wings and flitches and obvioulsy as all the rest has been replaced the front panel although is original is not matched to these panels. it would be ok to try and adjust the painted bonnet wouldnt it?
as it would be less work for me to widen the newly painted one than take off the mouldings and respray etc

well i tried the old bonnet and things look better, i then measured the old bonnet and compared to the new bonnet the old bonnet is 10mm wider over the strengthening bar (folded metal strip from one side to the other) in the middle and 20mm wider right at the back! no wonder the new one looked like ...

thannks for the pics they will help with things.it has been a complete front end rebuild, new tie plates new domed inner wings and new flat innerwings and flitches both sides. i have not tried the drivers side wing or door yet so cant say what they will look like. should the bonnet edge finish flush...

specialist had the old bonnet but that was a saloon bonnet and i have a pick up,so i changed it. ill try it with the other bonnet. so your saying the ns is correct? to me that looks like the wrong one as it doesnt run parallel to the bonnet, by the time it gets to the front the inner wing is under t...

Thanks psl i have nos wings, and a different but original bonnet and i had the inner wings replaced by a specialist, i assumed they were correct but i have my doubts which is why i was after a pic, when i tried to tease out the inner wing a little (by hand to make it fit) several of the spot welds p...

i used to get it for free as a friend took it out of brand new vans that were being converted to refridgerated vans. so if you have a van converting company near you, try them. its a very long shot but a cheap one!

thanks for all the advice, ive looked at self amalgamating tape and might go down that route but also i have seen braided polyester sleeving on ebay that is super cheap so i may try that as well if not both! thanks again for the help

i dont need to cover all of it, just some of it and it seems a bit daft buying a new loom when the wiring is ok, last time i looked they were well over £100? my truck is in bits as is the wiring so its easy to get to, ill speak to autosparks anyway thank very muchly.

hello, how bad is the pick up? i am 3/4 done on my restoration now which has been... new chassis lots of bits and lots of body work refurbed box unleaded head alternator but all the rest is as normal. its cost me about 5k with about £1000 of that outside labour. do you have a budget?

try going on to minor lcv reg website this is a specialist website for minor vans and pick ups where you can get loads of help and info and flog any spare bits left over. Dont chuck anything away till you are finished and noone else wants its pick up bits are rare and pricey!!!
