Re: Bit of fun: post pics of your fave modded moggy's
Thanks Ben :D My van has a perkins 2.0 turbo diesel. The wood kit does finish the interior of the traveller, and not as difficult to make as the rear bumper! I still regret selling that car. You are just down the road from me! I remember your car being at a couple shows local, you must just miss my ...

Re: Project Nancy - 1968 Saloon
Well done Ben, i remember being at that stage. It's nice looking back at the pictures of progress to give a boost of enthusiasm sometimes, so take plenty of pics! I did think about doing a red top conversion, look at carlton and omega gearbox's for a cheap straight bolt-on option compared to ford co...

Re: escort axle handbrake cable issue
I extended the threaded part of a moggie cable, i had a peice of tube with the correct thread cut in, wound it half on the original cable and used a nut to lock the thread, then wound a peice of threaded bar in the other end, again with a locking nut to stop it all undoing, and there you have a long...

Some VERY nice moggies appearing here! But to me, my turbo diesel van is my favourite, followed by my (now sold) traveller. http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x294/diesel-special/General%20photos/beckyvan1.jpg http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x294/diesel-special/General%20photos/beckyvan2.jpg http...

Re: Rallies in 2010
None of you went to retro rides show at haynes this year then? Dont blame you either, at the last minute i got my mustang MOT'd and went. What a huge disapointment!! :( it was absolutley rubbish, probly 10-15 decent cars in the hole field. Tones of modern rubbish that didnt look even slightly modifi...

Re: Engine weights
Perkins or Prima? Probably Prima from a Montego or Maestro.... The Prima is made by Perkins :D And yes a motego, very good  Montegos had the turbo  the best bit! I've seen a corsa diesel engine in a morris, they used a opel manta gearbox, not an easy one to find now! Maybe an Carlton bo...

Re: Engine weights
No not a TUD5, I said i was put off french engines, so used something else completely, and they need the battery tray taken away. Its most definatley a british engine in my van  My minor monthly article is a normal article about my van, not a 'how to' im affraid. Isn't that the fun though, if ...

Re: Engine weights
Yes your right '8009steve' has the fiesta diesel 6 wheel traveller, and is front wheel drive. He also had to remove the original morris battery tray  There is a chap I know of that did a 1.8 ford diesel in-line but did major chassis/body work to make it fit. The green van pictured above took l...

Re: Ideas to attract new young blood into the MMOC
Id be interested to know what the new membership figures are? and also the number of members who have also left? there mite be 28 new members in the last year for example, but if theres 27 that have left the club, yes membership has risen, but its alo fallen. As dennis says, time will tell. Its a lo...

Re: Ideas to attract new young blood into the MMOC
What you've got to ask yourself is what do people, young or old, get from being a member of the club? Seriously what do you get? I was a member for 10 years until last November, I got nothing from the club in that time. The magazine was usually awful and can live without it. The only reason I kept i...

Thats a real shame, i used to pass your van regular on my way to and from Stur (I live there part of the week) wondered why I hadn't seen it for a while. I hope you get your van back soon, i'll keep an eye out. Dennis has a point, some theives are stupid. Also they could be banking on you thinking '...

It was a good day, and nice run for my traveller, wish i'd taken my van though. A real shame the Dorset lot don't like signs! Didn't see anything on the roads, and nothing obvious on the way down to the park. the show field gate being closed due to the band going round didn't help me find the field ...
