Re: MMOC National Rally 2017

Is there a way of paying electronically? I find the cheque, A5 SAE thing troublesome as my bank account doesn't support this method.

I've taken to just turning up and paying on the day, which is generally more expensive.

Re: Rust proof covering

I'm using epoxy mastic on my old mini, from www.rust.co.uk. I am painting it on rather than spraying. First impressions are excellent, I would use it again. As the car isn't on the road yet, I can't comment on it's rust proofing qualities. I would recommend purchasing the plastic tubs to help you me...

Re: Never slam the door with the keys in!

Keyless start is not for the over 40's. Start car and realise you have left your wallet in the house and return to get wallet, leave car running with wife in passenger seat. Then, arriving at your destination and the obligatory perusal through the pockets to find you have left said keys at home in t...

Re: Flying Scotsman

Lovely locomotive. Is it just me or does anyone else think the "G" in "Flying" on the brass loco plate looks like a "C"? I spotted it when it was a tyseley.

Ah, the series 2 has two types of front wing. I guess Graham has the later one and I have the early one.

Re: Front wing for Series II

See link for visual help. http://potteries.mmoc.org.uk/ID/Grille.htm I bought a later second hand wing that was in fairly good condition and filled the indicator hole using fibre glass and filler. I then fitted the wing to the car and married up the front panel. Use a G clamp if necessary to hold in...

Re: Anyone for Christmas shopping?

And there was me thinking... wow a hypermarket for classics, some complete, some usable and some needing a lot of TLC. Would be disappointing if some had.. lets say, a questionable history. Look at these: http://www.stolzeclassiccars.nl/aanbod/1300/jaguar-mk2-rhd-to-restore/ http://www.stolzeclassic...

Re: Massive thank you to Phil - and more advice please?

Well done, a nice bit of toolmaking being done there (I am a toolmaker by trade  ). Don't be tempted to use a drill if you want to tap something out. It may break and embed into cast. Also, cast tends to just cut into dust, so I'd be surprised if it's anything you may have done. The obstructio...

Re: Vale: Roy Allingham (BMCecosse)

It's not only here he will be missed, AC Dodd put a condolences message on Facebook and got responses from several Mini forums, Roy will be sorely missed in many places. I couldn't find a message on the mini forum I frequent and I know Roy has 10,000 post on there, so I started a topic. He seems to...

Looks like a runner, will it be coming off the road or a rolling restoration?

Re: catton roll call

I decided not to attend in the end because my understanding was, you had to submit your vehicle registration. Not knowing which car to take (the Minor or my everyday vehicle) I couldn't fill the form in. Already in this post some people are leaving their Moggies at home. Have I missed out, bearing ...

Re: REQUEST FOR HELP WITH MY SERIES 2'S HISTORY

Apply to DVLA to get all the previous owners names and addresses. There is an online form and a £5 charge.

You could always try your luck and see if any are still with us and at the same address to tell you any tales.
