Help on the Interior

If anyone happens to have any fairly detailed photographs of the interior of a concours condition, or near concours condition, two door saloon, would they mind posting them up here? I need a canon against which to judge what's standard, what's bodged, and what's just "tired" in my Morris's...

A productive day's work...

I've spent part of the day (the part I wasn't walking on the beach at Solva with my missus) painting the grill of BetsyBlue, my Morris Minor. I've been promising myself I would do it since I bought her last year. I've never painted any part of a car before. The woman I bought her from had resprayed ...

Re: Spare Wheel

i know it sounds dreadful, but the back bar of the boot floor does bend after a while. my method of getting the spare in (with 155 tyres on i hasten to add) was to get a crow or jemmy bar, and gently pry the the rear of the boot floor up. it may damage the paint slightly, so if you intend on enteri...

Spare Wheel

The boot of my Minor, like all others I guess, has a plywood two piece floor which rests on a built-in rack. Presumably, the space underneath created by this creation is for the spare wheel... so has anyone got any ideas as to why my spare wheel doesn't fit in to that space under the plywood? I've t...

Re: Strange creaking sound

Thanks for all the advice, folks... so, here's the follow-up question!

Assuming that any or all the suggestions are correct (if it's possible that they all are?) do people think I am looking at megabucks to get it fixed, and major complications, or should it be relatively simple?

1.5 brakes... a report!

I beg to report to those who expressed an interest that the Riley 1.5 front brakes and Wolseley 1500 rear brakes (both, of course, 9" drums) fitted without additional servo assistance to my Morris, Betsy Blue, work a treat. I don't find them any heavier to depress than the ordinary Morris brake...

Paint

Anyone know where I can get a small can of Snowberry White, that I can use with a brush to repaint Betsy's Grill, in situ?

Strange creaking sound

First off, sorry if this is not in the right section... Betsy Blue has, or has developed, a funny creaking. It has always happened when she goes over a pothole or a speedbump. It sounds how my knees feel, if you know what I mean, but louder! Anyway, a friend of mine was visiting the other day, and I...

[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1274808897_12105 [/frame] Am I right that this is within walking distance of a village called Belchamp Walter, in Essex, but nearly Suffolk (near Sudbury)? My brother-in-law owns a cottage there, and I feel sure we walked past this house relatively close t...

Anyone near Tunbridge Wells?

Is there anyone near Tunbridge Wells who could have a shufti at an engine I am interested in? I can arrange to come and pick it up from West Wales, but am not really qualified to judge its worth even if I could come all the way to TW on spec... if anyone could help, it would save a wasted journey. I...

Seats etc

I know seats from a Rover 200 will fit in the front of a 2 door Minor (albeit with new subframes) but does anyone know if the back seat of a Rover 200 will fit in the Morris 2 door?

Great News!

After many long weeks in the garage, being gradually sorted in "off moments" by my mechanic, Gary - not that I'm complaining, I told him it wasn't to take priority over other work - he texted me tonight to say that Betsy Blue flew through her MOT today, with only one advisory: and that was...

Re: Help needed regarding the history of a car

No record of it on the DVLA system, which means it's probably been off the road for many years. The plate hasn't been transferred as far as I can tell. I'm afraid it's probably gone to meet Mr Issigonis , unless it's been stored away somewhere. When was it last on the road? That's Sir Alec to you! ...
