Re: Radiator overheating
I've ran it again in the driveway at about 1200 rpm for the last 25 mins. The bottom hose is slightly warm now but the heater is blowing cold air. I undone the hose from the valve at the back of the head and some hot water came through then undone the hose above the spark plugs ( outlet ) and could ...

Radiator overheating
Hi. I've just added a radiator repair fluid called K-Seal I had a small leak in the core . I'm not sure if this is a problem but after running to temperature the top of the Rad is hot , the engine is hot but the water in the bottom hose and bottom of rad is only slightly warm if at all. I've turned ...

Re: Dynamo pulley shattering
I've just buffed about 3mm off the adjusting plate from the engine to the Dynamo where the bolt goes in and all well apart from just discovered that when the pulley has shattered it's damaged the radiator . It's only a pin hole so is there anything you could suggest rather than a new rad. The fan be...

Re: Dynamo pulley shattering
I'm thinking the aftermarket pulley is obviously not the same as the Lucas one , bit hard to tell as the Lucas pulley is shattered. I would like to keep the original Lucas Dynamo. So was thinking of cutting the fans on the pulley to suit rather than fitting the black aftermarket Dynamo

Re: Dynamo pulley shattering
Got the Dynamo of my friend. It was a black aftermarket one so I changed the pulley to my original green Lucas. All went well and bolted up as before. Starting the engine I quickly smelt burning rubber. The black pulley is restricted by the bottom bolt on the sliding arm. There seems no way of adjus...

Re: Dynamo pulley shattering
Thanks Roy , been told the Dynamo is working so thanks for the advice . This is the first time I've ran it since changing the chain and sprockets to duplex , panicked as it sounded like a grinding from the camshaft

Re: Front engine mount plate removal
I've countersunk the Allen screws to about one mm proud of the plate , I'm worried that if I sink them flush there will be so little metal left at the outer part of the plate it could spilt if I tighten them to much. Do you think it's okay to leave the heads slightly proud
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Front engine mount plate removal
I've now got the front engine plate off between the block and front timing cover. The plate which carries the engine mounts. There's a paper gasket between plate and block so I'm assuming it must be an oil tight gasket. Gasket looks ok but goin to replace it anyway. Couldn't get the front plate off ...

Re: Front engine mount plate removal
Roy I've already disconnected the rubber mounts , the two nuts top and one underneath. Front plates all disconnected and loose but won't come off. I'm actually finishing off the job I started last year being changing sprockets to duplex so I have to counter sink the new Allen screws which come with ...
