Re: Lost keys

when I got knicked in 1992 for affray, the old bill never gave me my keys back. they insisted I never had them on me. that was rubbish. I did and took them to court and got them to pay for new locks for my car. 8)

Re: Clever way to sell a log book

I guess they are like marmite. i'd never own any other make of car. this car is awesome. when my missus went for a test drive at Brooklands, they rear tyres on the test drive were almost with no tread on them. she asked why and the seller showed her! he booted it around the test track and whilst loo...

Re: Clever way to sell a log book

It's a real shame to see negativity like this, regarding what people should do, or shouldn't do to their cars etc. Unfortunately, it's all too common on here, and I know of several folk who post less frequently because of it. We are fortunate with our Minors in that there are SO many out there, tha...

Re: Clever way to sell a log book

Geoberni it’s happening all the time people buy the cars and just clone them by swapping plates .i don’t know what the consequences would be in an insurance claim or an accident or fatality. Exactly!! Anyway, thought this was a club for Minor enthusiasts, not those who's only "enthusiasm"...

ampwhu I think you are deliberately winding people up . I hope you are paying tax on your lucrative deals I think not . I wondered if it was you who bought the private plate dik 1  why would I want to wind people up? your all getting wound up on your own because someone is selling a log book a...

Re: Clever way to sell a log book

no I certainly don't move digits to 'improve' it. the spacing is correct and legal. it only has 4 digits so it look great anyway. in regards to selling the plates, I'm not greedy at all. I look at it as a business proposition. its easy money and having no sentimental value to me, the more money I ge...

Re: Clever way to sell a log book

I really don't see why people get so excited by the sale of log books. what difference does it really make? is it yours there selling? do you know of the log book? does any one you know own the log book? time to get real people. a log book, is just that. its a piece of paper. if some fool wants to p...

having been around a dozen times, I think we won't be going this year as its costly and getting boring. autojumble (if you call it that) is expensive and not really set out well. too many people pushing and shoving. I got my foot trodden on a couple of years back and the person looked at me and walk...

I didn't stop as I was in work and late for a meeting. hope they sorted what ever it was.....

Re: oily plugs

Best options are rebuild your current engine or give it a 948 transplant. You'll be very lucky to find another 803 that doesn't need some sort of rebuild. If you go down the 948cc route, change the gearbox as well. The 803 box won't last long behind a bigger engine. Throw in a 4.55 diff as well. Th...

Re: Installing halfshafts

on the Austin A30, there was no groove in the rear hub for an o ring. when the A35 came along in 1956, they then had the o ring groove. if memory serves me correct, it was September 1956. I had years of leaking seals on the rear axle. one good point mentioned by Phil is the hole in the back axle. it...

I have a 948 engine in my 1955 car, with 948 internals in the gearbox. 4.2 diff at the back. car sits nicely on the motorway at 65mph.
