There are two Minors in my garden in a similar condition to that one, and a pick-up round the back. I might get round to them one day..

Re: Question for clutch replacement
Without any doubt if the clutch is being changed take out the engine as its much easier to remove than the gearbox. Minor boxes are notoriously fiddly to take out.

Re: URGENT Break light not working.
Brake light switch is under the bonnet. Have a look down the side of the radiator, to the left as you look at it and you will see it. The switch has two wires connected to it.

Re: Thinking of getting a Midget
There is a lot of prejudice regarding the Triumph engine in the 1500 Midget. This probably stems from its lower tolerance of abuse compared with the A-series! Provided a 1500 is well maintained and not driven everywhere at a million rpm it will be fine! The 1500s tend to be better value than the A s...

Is your Moggie a four door? I always open the offside rear door window a few inches on mine, it clears the back window a treat!

Re: Favourite Beers
One of my old regulars used to drink Guinness and cider mix. We always poured half a cider into a pint glass then poured it into another glass and back a few times to flatten it a touch, then the Guinness would mix in nicely with no heavy frothing over.

Re: CB radio
Exactly right. The ban on using mobile phones when driving does not affect CB radio use. They are very handy on a run out with others. If there are only a couple of you, PMR446 radios are just as useful.

Excellent post Alec.
It is nice to see proper beer making a return now. The days of keg only pubs seem to finally be on the way out.

Very true! There are certainly far more real ales and wines than there are fizzy, foul tasting, vile 'lagers'
Re: CB radio
They are still useful if a few of you are out for a run. Ive always had them in my Landrovers. Just bought one from these, great service..

Very nice! Just took my Series 3 for MOT today, which it happily failed! (front brakes not doing a fat lot...) Nothing quite like a Landy!
