Re: Speedometer issue!

Thanks for the link Matt, I've already been scouring the auctions, I had seen that one, but as far as I know it wouldn't be suitable - 1280 tpm is a bit low (I think)

Speedometer issue!

Hi there everyone, have had my first problem with my minor - the speedo stopped working! It squeeked for about quarter of a mile while I was going about 40, and then stopped working entirely. Tested it using a drill and it was completely seized, so I stripped it down as far as I could go to try and ...

Re: Kidney panel card mounting?

I like the way you've mounted your speakers under the rear seat dp, but cutting all that metal away scares me! Perhaps if I decide I need another set of 2 speakers I'll put 'em in there...

Re: Kidney panel card mounting?

There's a huge hole in the dashboard soffit that will take downward facing speakers. If you drive in time with the music the petrol pump acts like a metronome - radical  It's when the music and the indicator ticker end up in time that I am most satisfied... And as for the kidney panel card cu...

Re: Kidney panel card mounting?

I think the answer will be to stick the speakers to the panel with the magnets!! - Can tend to mess up the sound of the speakers, otherwise it would be great! What I don't understand is this rush for noise - I'm a teenage bloke! I can't break the stereotype even if I am in a moggy - I need some spe...

Re: Thread sizes

Mike.Perry, a very good point, I'll be buying a set of spanners soon... But the list still has its uses - I will be using it to know what nuts and bolts should be there, as opposed to what are actually there. It means I can replace with the correct nuts & bolts. Now we just need a list of every ...

Great work Richard, thanks! Is that every bolt & nut in a moggy?! Just missing all the small screws and things...?

Re: Thread sizes

Where are these lists you talk of?! It would be super helpful if you could post up a link of the spanner sizes of screws please! And you are right, a full list of thread types and size of screws for a moggy would be really useful... Is there a way we could start a list on this forum, and then have i...

Re: Kidney panel card mounting?

Sorry I really can't help you there, I'm planning to mount the speakers in this sortof way: http://www.instructables.com/id/Fiberglass-Car-Front-Speakers/ So to me the depth available is irrelevant so I haven't measured it. But from just looking at it, I would say the depth available in the recess i...

Re: Choke cable issues

Ok thanks, I think I'll need to put a clothes peg in the car then, tried to hold the choke out by twisting, but it didn't work. :x
It will stay half out on it's own though, with no twist... If I wanted to fix this, would a new choke cable & knob work?
Cheers

Kidney panel card mounting?

Sorry about this, it's yet another question! I'm planning to mount speakers in the front kidney panels like I've seen many people do, but I can't figure out how to fix the new kidney panel card (which will be considerably heavier with speaker mounted to it) to the car. The one's I removed were just ...

Re: Footman James problem. No access to another vehicle.

I had exactly the same problem!
The first question I was asked after what car I was looking to insure was 'is this your only vehicle?' After I replied 'no' they flatly refused to insure me and wouldn't speak any more about it. Now I know...
