Re: clutch and brake spring retainer
Check in the nearside chassis as there is one in there for a left hand drive model. As it's not been used you may be able to reverse engineer a mirror image one for the off side you require

Re: Spot weld drilling.
I think the best one by far is the spot weld drill bit. It's a HSS bit but it's flat with a tiny very sharp point in the centre to get it started it just cuts throuh the top metal sheet. this type http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-HIGH-QUALITY-PRESTO-8-0mm-COBALT-WELDA-DRILL-SPOT-WELD-STUB-DRILL-BIT...

Re: Chassis plate
I had a go at my van plate with a set of stamps I have. IIRC they are 5mm high digits. I did tis by clamping the plate to a steel bench with a steel bar to act as a guide for under the letters etc to keep a straight line. Not a "machine finish" but I thought it looks authentic 1970's If yo...

Re: Van headlining, front piece.
What year is your PU Les?
This last week or so I read somewhere that early lcv's had various methods of supporting the headlining, using hardboar/timber strips before the tension wire was used. If I re-stumble accross it I'll let you have a copy or a link.

Re: Van headlining, front piece.
28,29 & 30 are the same as on my van, or at least the same as I have. I have two, one is hardboard and one is plywood, both have the metal wedge type clips riveted to them. I haven't got as far as fitting headlining yet. I do have the aluminium bars (too many I think) and also the John Lennon sp...

Re: RE SPOTTED TODAY INFRINGEMENT OF PRIVACY
Well the way I see it is..... The reg number of ALL vehicles is DISPLAYED on them (has to be by law & checked for clarity & security on MoT) to identify it for administrative & legal purposes. If someone bumped into you and just drove of etc, So many thousands of people look at your car ...

Joey Essex stripped a van, he split it into 20 lots @ £100 each, so he actually got £1267 for it!POMMReg wrote:If you live in Essex......

You don't need to purchase anything to get a free catalouge. I applied online for one FREE 4 years ago and since then have received at least 2 more updated versions. There must be one due anytime, the last one I received had the butchers van onb the front.

Re: Do you use the rear windows on your Trav......?
It seems to me that the rear windows on a Traveller are not opened often other than the one or two I've seen on MOT. I am about to replace a rear post due to wet rot in the joint where the post meets the centre section. To avoid any more rot I am considering removing the window runners, using woode...

The valve seats on the smooth grey ish ground in part on the inside of the "Hole" if you drop the valves in loose you will see what I mean. When they are ground in there will be a mating surface in the same place on the head of the valve (the seat)

It sounds like the stud that retains the rocker pedestal has come out with the hollow nut, thats why you have a loose washer.

Black engines in Austin Minor LCV's is a myth, much the same thing as the J/M chassis prefix denoting an LCV built at Abingdon. So, your's should be a GREEN engine with an Austin sticker on the rocker cover. I wish you'd make your mind up. On the LCV Register you gave me enough stick when I redid m...
