Re: Oil pressure check

Awsome, now i know my oil pressure is good. The light on the dash glows on, dims down slighty after start up. There was a wire on the oil filter housing ive now changed for spin on type so the wire goes to nothing, is this the problem or faulty oil pressure switch

Oil pressure check

Hi everyone
I have just fully build a 1098 morris engine with 1275 head, having no oil gauge i bought one in temperary placement of the oil pressure switch just to check when i start it. Its between 45 and 50 psi at idle when upto temperature. Is this a good reading?
Thanks
Andy

Re: 948 gearbox

Ive had my 948cc smooth case gearbox with 1098cc internals fitted. Bit of machine work involved apparently. Made it a much stronger overall box

Re: Timing chain

im pretty convinced that ive got it right. crank 12 oclock and cam 1,2 oclock. its the standard 1098 chain with the rubber rings to tension.
Also would putting a mini dampened crank pulley make any differance? Whats the benefits

Re: Issues with head

Whats the measurements for standard size, No1 is pitted badly no numbers showing on crown. Think ill have to order new standard pistons, hopefully get away with just glaze busting bores if they measure correct
