Re: Braking, or the abject lack of....

Hi,
Sounds like the Master Cylinder has failed, as above check if there is any fluid left in the cylinder. If it is the cylinder fit a new one rather than a £10 seal kit, only to find in a months time it has happened again. Its false economy.

Have you tried Moss Europe? A tad more expensive but they have a shop in Stockport, if they are near enough collecting from them will save postage.

Re: Soft Breaks with Servo

Are you getting fresh clean fluid through when you bleed the brakes? if not it does appear there is air still in the lines. Continue bleeding untill you get fresh fluid at each cylinder.

Re: new master cylinder fitted at garage and now :(

There should be 3/4" free movement at the top of the pedal before the adjustable rod starts to push against the master cylinder.
Its worth checking this first.

Re: HEATER EFFECTIVENESS

I too have the circular heater, fantastic at keeping your feet warm but not so good on the demisting side. Like others I have checked the hoses and they are ok. I have often thought about making some form of detachable circular piece of sheet metal to block the heater off at the bottom and force all...

Re: Help with MPG

Got to agree with others on the tuning, I found that the problem with older cars, is that the diagnostic machines dont take into account the age of the engine. True, they will tell you what needs adjusting and replacing but they wont take into account the age and wear in the engine. Best indicator w...

Re: Master Brake Cylinder Replacement

Happy New Year Everyone, Brakes have now been bled and I now have a Brake pedal second to none, totally firm first press, no sinking. :D For information (if it helps others) I bled them the conventional 2 man method, bleeding the following way as I struggled to get the air out bleeding the wheels in...

Re: Advice needed on vibrating clutch.

Looking at the 2nd video I would say that the springs are broken or out of alingement, most probably caused by incorrect fitting. I would also question the ability of the mechanic who let it out of the garage in that state.... when you collected the car did he vanish after handing over the keys and ...

Re: electricity

Total watts divided by voltage = total amps drawn, in your case it equals 23.54 amps (call it 24) so if you have a 30 amp fuse covering the circuit it should not blow or trip. BUT Are you useing all the appliances at once from the same socket? if you are then I would guess the cable feeding the sock...

Hi everyone, hope you all enjoyed the festivities :) I have changed the Master Cylinder, the one I took out had 13/16" cast on the side so at least I know the size.... Removal was straightforward following the instructions in the Tech Tips section and also with the Haynes Manual to hand. The ha...
