Re: Traveller window woes
A good piece of advice that I was given when I replaced all of my wood was to block the holes and fill with the top coat in order for it to soak into the wood. Then unblock after a couple of days so that you know the treatment has soaked in well.

Re: Traveller window woes
The wood has come up great Seb and it certainly looks solid. I would add another couple of top coats for protection and I would say that you will have extended the life of your wood considerably well done!

Led bulb advice
I'm considering fitting led side light bulbs on my Moggie indicators and brake lights to improve the safety aspect of my car and wonder if anybody has fitted these in their own car's and what the general feeling is for these bulbs aswell as any links to buy.
Many thanks

Re: New fan belt, now have red light
I fitted an alternator on both of my Moggies and it is straight forward to do and certainly one of the must mods Imo.
Reliability wise it is much better than the control box I have found.

Re: Interior mirror
I bought a lovely interior mirror that was chrome and I had to drill a different hole to make it fit.
Much nicer than the original.

For several years now I have been to the NEC classic car show but I must admit, I do prefer the outdoor shows where you can walk around the cars properly and not be crowded out.

thermostat queery
Im looking at thermostats on ebay and there are several listed, starting at 74 degrees up to 88 degrees.
Which one would be recommended and would the setting make a difference to the reading on the temp gauge please?

Re: New battery
Hi Alan, I had battery trouble on friday with Woddie and I ordered a replacement 40 AH battery for the same reasons. The extra AH makes all the difference as it wont drain as quickly as the lower amp batteries and I found starting has improved also. I remember some years ago owning an MG Montego tha...

Re: Ignition
Due to 3 failures on 2 cars with Accuspark I have now reverted back to points and condenser again, as Manyminors says the points and condenser set up system has lasted for so long. I reverted to electronic ignition thinking that I would have better reliability even though I had no issues before. I g...

I have a pancake filter on both my Moggies, is this likely to cause me longer term problems.

I also managed to cut a piece of carpet that went round the fuel pipe that is inside the car and it hides quite well.

New boot carpet
IMG_20190302_133728.jpg Today armed with my decent Role of carpet that I bought from the Malvern show at the weekend I decided to change the boot carpet in my Traveler. I removed all of the lighter coloured carpet and used as a template to cut the new carpet out as well as using Autosol to polish t...
